The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) recently made a major discovery in Daniel Romalotti Jr.’s (Michael Graziadei) apartment. It could help clear Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) name in the end, so let’s talk about what this really means.
During a thorough forensic search, Chance found what appeared to be an octopus bookend with traces of blood on it. The markings were consistent with ones on the back of Heather’s head, so Chance feels confident this is the murder weapon.
Of course, we have to acknowledge that Y&R seemingly just proved Sharon is innocent when it comes to Heather’s demise. Although Sharon is guilty of the cover-up and framing Daniel, it’s extremely doubtful she caused Heather’s grisly outcome.
Sharon woke up after a blackout and was horrified to find Heather deceased on the floor. However, the murder weapon was obviously cleaned and put back on the shelf based on Chance’s findings.
It just doesn’t seem likely that Sharon attacked Heather, cleaned off the bookend and sat it on the shelf again. If Sharon was operating in some autopilot state during her blackout, she probably wouldn’t have thought about covering her tracks in that moment.
After all, Heather’s body was still sprawled out on the floor at that point. If Sharon were actually to blame, she would’ve woken up to find the bookend right there next to Heather’s corpse or even in her hand.
Since the bookend was wiped down, there should’ve already been a blood-stained towel for Sharon to find. Instead, Sharon didn’t start clean-up duty until AFTER she awoke from her blackout.
It’s not like Sharon’s blackout is protecting her from any feelings of guilt about what happened. It’s actually made Sharon believe she’s responsible since she can’t remember the full story.
Sharon’s blackout seems more like Y&R’s way of creating a window of time for another culprit to have done the deed.
The fact that Sharon can’t remember anything about this bookend is highly suspicious and points to another dangerous criminal still being on the loose!
