The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers note that Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) drinking will continue to take center stage on the soap. When her AA sponsor Seth (Brian Gaskill) was first introduced to audiences, fans were buzzing about a potential romance; however, without a last name ever offered, it’s clear that Seth’s role in the show was to introduce Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) into the storyline to be a source of support to Nikki.
Considering his history with her and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), Jack becoming Nikki’s sponsor adds a unique layer to all this.
During a recent show, Seth begged Nikki for help. No one can blame her for rejecting him, after all, being around someone who has relapsed would be a disaster for Nikki as she’s struggling as it is.
She provided a ton of great suggestions for him. Besides, the truth is that Seth would’ve dragged Nikki into his relapse; she would’ve started drinking again herself.
What Seth and Nikki both need is an AA sponsor to lean on who is clean and can offer them the support they need.
Still, there’s a good chance that Seth either winds up very injured or dead. Seth’s tragedy may be to go on a drinking bender and crash his car, or even sustain alcohol poisoning or something to that effect.
Perhaps he ends his own life. No one knows a lot about Seth and his inner dinners. Still, while fans can see whatever happens to Seth won’t be Nikki’s fault, she’ll blame herself.
The poor woman has endured enough trauma since Thanksgiving to last a lifetime. If something bad happens to Seth, she may go out on a bender herself.
Of course, after she reaches for alcohol and gets wasted, she’ll realize she made a mistake. She’s been fighting the idea of having Jack as her AA sponsor; however, as she’ll be drunk and won’t want to reach out to Victor, and gal pal Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman) may be unreachable, she’ll be forced to reach out to Jack.
Jack will likely tell his wife Diane Abbott (Susan Walters), but Nikki may keep it hidden from the Moustache.
Then again, maybe she asks Jack to keep quiet, all around.
Not a good move, but Nikki needs a sponsor, and Jack is a good candidate. She knows telling Victor could create a lot of tension between them, and she doesn’t have the strength for it. She needs to focus on her sobriety.
Young and the Restless spoilers hint that secrets don’t stay “secrets” in Genoa City for too long, and once the Moustache finds out that Jack is Nikki’s sponsor and she kept it a secret, all heck will break loose.
