The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers indicate some explosive drama on the horizon in the land of Genoa City. Actor Jason Thompson recently interviewed with SOD. He talked to the online mag about all the chaos surrounding Billy Abbott’s life but focused on recent scenes with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). As fans know, Victor has a wicked plan where Billy is concerned, and the two had a confrontation this week.
As Thompson concluded his chat with SOD, he hinted about a plot twist that’s coming, and it has to do with the Abbott-Chancellor leadership team.
As Lily got the ax this week, fans assumed Billy would be flying solo as Abbott-Chancellor’s head honcho.
Still, this doesn’t look like it’ll be the case, as Jason stated, “There’s someone else who steps up and wants to do it with him.”
It’s hard not to think that Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) could be the candidate that runs Abbott-Chancellor by Billy’s side.
He’s Jill Abbott’s (Jess Walton) family (so she’d approve) and Chance has made it clear he wants a bigger role in the company.
Even though he’s a bit of a newbie in the corporate rat race he’s caught on pretty quick, and this is the land of soaps where a mid-level executive can easily transition into the role of a CEO in a matter of months.
Chance becoming co-CEO of Abbott-Chancellor along with Billy is interesting enough as it is but mix in the fact that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) is his girlfriend and there’s a whole new can of worms that the show may open.
As fans recall, Victor recently helped Summer when it came to her custody battle against Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).
Victor sent Kyle into his office and ordered him to clear the air where Harrison Abbott’s (Redding Munsell) custody was concerned.
When Summer revealed to Phyllis Newman (Michelle Stafford) that her grandpa helped her out, Phyllis grew concerned.
In fact, she even had a confrontation with Victor warning him against pulling Summer into any of his crazy scheming.
It’s hard to believe that Victor would ask Summer for a favor in return for his favor, but Phyllis’s worry seemed to foreshadow that he could rope his granddaughter into something, soon.
As all the pieces come together at Abbott-Chancellor and the power shifts, could Victor ask Summer to spy on Chance?
Victor may word it as if Summer isn’t spying, just offering some insider information. He may also make it clear that he isn’t asking her for payback.
After all, she’s family, and family helps out family, right? (Just as he recently helped her with her “Kyle” situation).
Will Summer cross this line with Chance? Could she blow the Summance romance out of the water if she does so?
