The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) and Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will have a fun conversation in the January 29 episode, but it could turn out to have a deeper significance.
Since it’ll be Chance and Summer’s first official date, they’ll keep the mood light as they ask each other questions.
After Chance pretends he’s appalled over Summer’s disdain for watermelon, he’ll jokingly guess that next Summer’s going to say she doesn’t like lettuce, peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwiches.
Once Summer acknowledges how gross that sounds, she’ll admit it could literally cause her demise if she ate that combo.
Chance will assume Summer’s just being dramatic, but she’ll explain that she actually has a severe peanut allergy.
Of course, longtime Y&R fans know this since Summer’s had an allergic reaction on the show before.
Could Summer have another one coming up based on the hints dropped in this conversation?
After Chance expresses surprise over Summer’s news, he’ll assure her that he’d leap into action if she ever had an allergic reaction in front of him.
A little later in the discussion, Chance will talk about how he never forgets anything Summer tells him – and that could certainly be a good thing now that she’s informed him of her peanut problems!
What if Summer accidentally ingests something that contains peanuts in the not-too-distant future?
That could lead to Chance leaping into action just like he promised and saving Summer’s life as a result.
Naturally, there could be some scary moments in the meantime, so that could help Chance realize just how much Summer matters to him.
It might even lead to Chance declaring love for Summer, so it’d be a great way to move this relationship along.
Chance may no longer be on the police force, but he could still get a heroic moment if he helps Summer when she’s in distress.
Whatever the case, this whole peanut allergy thing could come back into play and put Summer in danger, so stay tuned for updates on any shockers ahead.
