The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) will remain determined to go up against Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and give Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell) a more stable life. Summer doesn’t approve of the choices Kyle’s been making, but she’s starting to make some pretty questionable ones herself!
Although Summer is hoping for primary custody of Harrison, she’s bound to face some challenges.
Summer loves Harrison just as much as if she’d given birth to him, but she’s not his biological mother.
That gives bio dad Kyle an advantage going into this custody fight, but Summer will no doubt keep thinking of ways to boost her own chances.
Summer already plans to move out of the GCAC and get an actual house, but maybe she could do more to prove she can offer stability.
Will Summer stun Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) with a marriage proposal?
Summer might suggest a wedding for custody-related reasons.
Perhaps Summer will act like it’ll look good to the judge if Harrison’s moving into a loving home with two parents – unlike life with Kyle at his swinging bachelor pad.
Of course, marriage is an awfully big step – and Chance hasn’t been dating Summer for that long.
Chance might pump the brakes on Summer’s wedding plans and admit that’s just too much to ask of him – especially considering how his marriage to Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) ended.
Maybe Chance could also take this opportunity to open Summer’s eyes to her obsessive behavior and overreactions.
Chance would naturally want to be gentle about it, but he might push Summer to see that she’s taking all this way too far.
Then again, it’s possible Chance could actually get on board.
Chance knows what it’s like to be a non-biological parent who feels like an outsider, so he might be willing to marry Summer and help boost her custody chances.
Regardless, it makes sense for Summer to at least suggest the idea of marrying Chance for custody’s sake. It’d fit with Y&R’s theme of Summer making over-the-top moves she might live to regret.
