The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for the week of December 9-13 hints that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will test Claire Newman’s (Hayley Erin) family loyalty.
Currently, Claire’ gotten close to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), which rubs Victor the wrong way.
He’s never encouraged this romance, and even though Kyle and Victor were on the same page when the young Abbott was running Glissade, in light of recent events, the two men aren’t as chummy as they used to be.
In fact, now that Kyle knows Victor only used him to get back at his father, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), he’s not overly fond of the man. The feeling is mutual for Victor.
During the Thursday, December 12 episode, Victor will examine where Claire’s priorities lie.
It’s hard to tell what Victor will do exactly, but he may have a request for Claire to see if she’d choose her budding romance with Kyle over the Newman family.
Claire’s a sweet girl who is head over heels for Kyle, and since they did the deed for the first time recently, her first time ever, it may be challenging for her to navigate any situation Victor puts her through.
Still, during whatever “test” Victor places at her feet, could she find herself having an epiphany about Kyle and where his true feelings lie?
During the Monday, December 9 episode, Kyle and Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) were arguing over who should tell Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell) about his new nanny situation.
Claire wanted to be the one to break the news to the little boy, while Summer insisted to Kyle that they should, as Harrison’s parents.
Kyle and Summer bantered for a bit about it, and it was during this small spat that Summer revealed she was no longer seeing Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd).
Kyle seemed surprised, and soften his stance and succumbed to Summer’s request, after this. He also seemed to change his tune a bit where Summer was concerned.
Kyle and Summer ended up telling Harrison that Claire was no longer going to be his nanny, and the boy seemed to take it well.
Still, upon hearing the news that Kyle and Summer spilled her new job plans to Harrison, Claire was confused and a little upset – although she did try to hide it.
Kyle almost seemed to be #TeamSummer in this situation when he explained his reasons behind pushing the button on telling Harrison, which is a bit of a change considering how he normally does fight back on any situation when he and Summer don’t see eye to eye.
It’s hard not to think that as Summer is suddenly single, she and Kyle could find their way back to each other. The two have broken up in the past, multiple times, only to reunite.
Does Kyle still have feelings for Summer? There still seems to be some sort of spark between them, when they interact without Claire being around.
Still, Claire entered said picture while Summer was with Chance, but now that she’s not with the cop, could Kyle be open to a reunion?
Whatever Victor has Claire do to prove her allegiance to the Newmans could bring Kyle’s feelings for Summer to the forefront. Maybe Victor asks Claire to keep a secret, one she ends up telling Kyle, and he ends up spilling the beans, which is something he would never do to Summer.
Then again, during their chat about family loyalty, Victor could place the idea in Claire’s ear of Kyle and Summer’s romance being the greatest love of their respective lives, which could open her eyes to their relationship and how it compares to what she has with him, moving forward.
The Young and the Restless spoilers note that a Summer/Kyle/Claire love triangle is on the horizon, but a true love triangle storyline is only good when the one in the middle of it has mixed feelings about both of the other two suitors.
Kyle seemed to laugh off how Summer was “jealous” of his relationship with Claire recently, but now that he knows Summer is on the market, does he feel differently about things?
