The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, June 6, reveals that Alan Laurent (Christopher Cousins) will urge Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) to get some rest since she encouraged off-screen Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) to do the same.
However, Ashley will continue drinking coffee and won’t want to risk going to sleep since her alters might take over.
Instead, Ashley will want to keep trying to uncover the source of her trauma since she’ll feel so close to a breakthrough.
Alan will admit they could try hypnosis, but he’ll acknowledge that she’s not the ideal candidate in her exhausted state – not to mention the process comes with risks.
Ashley will insist on trying it anyway, so Alan will put her under and push her to think back to being at the bar.
Traci will return as Ashley ultimately remembers Martin Laurent (Christopher Cousins) whispering something to her while he was posing as Alan.
Once Ashley comes out of hypnosis, she’ll want to visit Alan’s townhouse since Martin said he wanted to show her some art there.
After Ashley listens to Tucker McCall’s (Trevor St. John) voicemail and calls him back, she’ll seek updates on his encounter with “Alan” and argue that he was mistaken before hanging up.
Although Ashley will push Tucker to focus on business, he’ll wonder what’s going on with her and will ultimately leave his suite in search of answers.
Next on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Alan will take Ashley and Traci to his townhouse, where Ashley will recall the painting that Martin showed her.
That painting will help bring back some memories about Martin reframing Tucker’s actions as more aggressive than they actually were.
Ashley will also recall Martin thinking of her as one of his subjects and objecting to that.
There’ll also be a noise somewhere in the house, so Alan will leave the room at one point to investigate.
When “Alan” returns a little while later, he’ll only be wearing slacks and a dress shirt – not the sweater and jacket he was wearing when he walked in.
“Alan” will act like he saw no sign of anyone and will start to behave rather suspiciously.
For starters, “Alan” will suggest maybe he did his brother more harm than good by not recognizing Martin’s “gifts” and accepting that he had a deeper understanding of trauma patients.
Plus, “Alan” will push for hypnosis despite previously claiming it was a bad idea to put Ashley under again.
We’ll see “Alan” insist that Ashley can’t lose momentum now, so that’ll be a big change from when Alan was trying to get Ashley to rest earlier.
“Alan” will also act like Traci’s presence could be hindering Ashley’s progress, so he’ll send her to the kitchen to make a pot of strong coffee and leave her uncertain about all this.
Once “Alan” is alone with Ashley, he’ll help her fight off her alters before putting her back under hypnosis.
Ashley will remember a roleplay exercise and Martin telling her that Tucker smashed the glass and threw the chair, even though that wasn’t what really happened.
Ashley will also recall Martin acting like he could be a new and better version of Tucker for her.
As Martin leans in for a kiss in Ashley’s flashback, he’ll suddenly become Tucker in her mind.
When Ashley comes out of hypnosis, she’ll realize she confused Tucker for aggressive Martin and that’s why her alters were so determined to protect her from Tucker.
“Alan” will finally gloat about cracking the code and knowing better than his brother, so Ashley will look horrified as she realizes she’s actually been talking to Martin.
Although Ashley will try to run away, Martin will leap up off the couch and grab her.
Ashley will be filled with terror as Martin puts a hand over her mouth to stop her from screaming.
