The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Tuesday, August 13, reveals that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will interrupt Harrison Abbott’s (Redding Munsell) grandpa time with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and turn it into a chance to play up his bond with Summer Newman (Allison Lanier).
After Jack sends Harrison to look at some nearby caterpillars in the park, Jack will bicker with Phyllis about the custody feud and her attempt to blame it all on Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).
Next on Tuesday’s Y&R episode, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will tag along with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) for lunch at Society, where Nikki will praise Claire as the best assistant she ever had despite her original ulterior motives.
Nikki will wonder if Claire would consider coming to work with her again since she’ll be running a new company soon if all goes well.
It’ll leave Claire tempted due to all the Harrison custody drama and the fact that she feels caught in the middle.
Victoria will also hint about Claire’s crush on Kyle and the possibility that she could explore her feelings if Kyle weren’t her boss.
However, Claire will turn down Nikki in the end because she just won’t think she can leave Harrison right now.
At the office later, Nikki and Victoria will debate whether Kyle would be a good match for Claire considering all his baggage and bad behavior lately.
Victoria will want to protect Claire from heartbreak, but she also won’t want to stand in the way of her finding love.
At the Abbott mansion, Jack will suggest that maybe Claire could talk to Kyle and help get through to him about damage this custody feud could do to Harrison.
Later, Harrison will notice that Claire seems deep in thought, so he’ll assume it’s about his parents and will suspect they’re mad because of him.
Claire will promise that’s not the case and will brush off her pensiveness as nothing.
At the Abbott-Chancellor office, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will admit to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) that he’s having second thoughts and doesn’t think he should step away from the company after all.
Lily will fume over Billy going back on his decision, especially when he was willing to step behind the curtain just a few hours ago.
Nevertheless, Billy won’t believe he should run from Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and will push Lily to sign off on a new press release about the name change along with them running the company jointly.
Lily will get fed up with Billy being a one-man orchestra and will storm out without giving her approval on the press release.
At the GCAC, Phyllis will spot Lily at the bar and thank her for reaching a solution with Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) regarding Princess Luisa.
Phyllis will also talk about Billy being someone who’s only looking out for himself, so she’ll question why Lily would want to work with him instead of her own family.
Back at Society, Jack will bump into Billy, who’ll give him a heads-up on the Abbott name being officially added to Chancellor.
Jack will still think of Chancellor as Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) company and will suggest her legacy should be respected.
Billy will fire back that he’s forging a new legacy and snap that maybe Jack should start respecting that!
