The Young and the Restless Tuesday, October 8 Recap: Paul’s Heart Attack, Heather’s Affair and Sharon’s Dinner Date

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Tuesday, October 8, reveals that Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will come home from a Paris visit with some positive Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) updates. Ashley will still be on track to come home in time for Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) and Devon Hamilton-Winters’ (Bryton James) wedding.

However, Traci will grow concerned about all the family drama that’s been happening while she’s been gone.

At the GCAC, Traci and Alan Laurent (Christopher Cousins) will witness more of it when a fight erupts between Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).

Diane will think Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) is a grown man who should be held responsible for his own decisions, but Jack will keep most of the blame on Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).

That’ll annoy Diane, who’ll feel like Jack is really blaming her for firing Kyle and giving Victor the opportunity to pull him over to his side.

Diane will storm out on Jack, so Victor will notice while he’s talking to Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) nearby.

After Victor tells Michael about his ownership of Glissade and Kyle scoring the sole CEO spot with a stolen Jabot product, he’ll push Michael to find a way to protect him from corporate theft.

Victor will also give Michael a nudge to check on Diane following her argument with Jack, so Michael will follow her to the jazz lounge.

Diane will wonder if she can really trust Michael considering his mixed loyalties, but he’ll insist she can confide in him as a friend.

While Diane opens up to Michael about Jack and Victor’s feud causing problems, Victor will stop by Jack’s table and taunt him about his marriage troubles.

Of course, Victor will also bring up Jack’s derailed relationship with Kyle and wonder what John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) would think about all of this.

At Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) house, she’ll try to get rid of “Cameron Kirsten” (Linden Ashby) by replacing him with a Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) fantasy.

Right when Nick leans in for a kiss, “Cameron” will pop back up.

Although “Cameron” will think Sharon needs to take the next step by alerting the cops to the evidence in Daniel Romalotti Jr.’s (Michael Graziadei) apartment, she’ll put it off and head to the athletic club.

Sharon will bump into Traci and Alan there, so Traci will introduce her and point out that she’s a trained therapist.

Alan will mention that he’d like to get Sharon’s input for a book he’s writing, but Sharon will seem uncomfortable as she ultimately hurries out of there.

At one point, Traci will ask Alan to move in with her at the Abbott house, so he’ll love the idea as long as he’s not crowding her or annoying her family.

Traci will feel certain that Jack and Diane will approve, so she won’t have any concerns at all.

Meanwhile, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will quiz Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) about Heather Stevens’ (Vail Bloom) demeanor before she left town.

Daniel will spill about all the drama with Sharon leading up to that and suggest it played a big role in Heather’s decision to leave.

At Crimson Lights, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will realize the pain she put her kids through by faking her demise, so she’ll tell Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) that she wants to make things up to them.

Summer will just be glad that Phyllis survived and that she’s with them now.

After Daniel gets a call from the hospital in Lisbon, he’ll fill Summer and Phyllis in on Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) having a heart attack.

Although Paul will be recovering, Daniel will admit this means he won’t be able to make it to Heather’s funeral.

Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) will also give Nick and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) the news about Sharon going out late last night.

Despite Sharon’s claims about turning a corner, Faith will worry that maybe she’s just gotten better at hiding her issues.

Nick will offer reassurance and suggest that he’ll spend some one-on-one time with Sharon, so that’ll ease Faith and Mariah’s minds on Tuesday’s Y&R episode.

Once Daniel and Phyllis run into Nick, Mariah and Faith at the coffeehouse, Sharon will appear nearby.

Daniel will mention Paul’s heart attack, so a stunned Sharon will make her presence known and extend her well wishes.

After everyone else takes off, Nick will hang back with Sharon and ask if she’s free for dinner tonight.

Sharon will seem pleasantly surprised as she accepts Nick’s offer – and she’ll be even happier once Nick says it’s a date.

At Society, Summer will meet up with Chance, who’ll keep mulling over possibilities in Heather’s case.

Chance will mention his theory that Heather might’ve been meeting someone at the river – someone who knew her well enough to be able to unlock her phone.

Summer will realize Chance means Heather might’ve been romantically involved with someone else, so she’ll suggest that would crush Daniel.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Chance will keep digging for the truth, so we’ll pass along predictions on all the chaos surrounding Sharon’s cover-up.
