The Young and the Restless Wednesday, August 21 Recap: Billy Throws Prison Time in Lily’s Face, Claire’s Kyle Discovery

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, August 21, reveals that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will fluster Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) by inviting her to dinner, but she’ll move past her nerves once he mentions needing help with his real estate choices.

At the office, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters) will discuss Kyle’s late-night meetings to Newman Tower and speculate about the reason for them.

There’ll still be concerns about Glissade and Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) plan to go after Jabot.

Diane and Jack will no longer believe letting Kyle fail is the right route to take.

Since Victor is involved and could drag Kyle into too much trouble, Diane will think they need to get back in Kyle’s good graces.

Jack will feel like Kyle has to accept help whether he wants it or not, so Diane will suggest thinking like Victor and sacrificing morality to get their son back.

Once Jack and Diane head to Society, they’ll cross paths with Kyle and Claire there.

Kyle will be rather frosty toward his parents, but Claire will mostly keep the conversation focused on Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell) to stop it from getting too tense.

Once Diane’s alone with Jack at a table, she’ll admit she appreciates Claire being a calming presence for Kyle.

Jack will also have an idea on how to get to the bottom of Kyle’s connection to Victor.

Back with Claire, she’ll look though Kyle’s new house options and discover that they’re all similar to the Abbott mansion.

Claire will hint that maybe deep down, Kyle wants to stay where he is.

At the GCAC, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will wonder why Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) seems so curious about Abbott-Chancellor and her partnership with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).

Nikki will talk about being protective of Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) legacy, so Lily will insist she’s protective as well and won’t let anything put it at risk, including Billy.

In the jazz lounge, Victor will claim that the rumors about him going after Abbott-Chancellor aren’t true, but Billy will seem skeptical.

When Victor brings up the rumors about Jill Abbott’s (Jess Walton) health, Billy will insist his mother’s doing well.

Although Billy will think they can play on their own sides of the sandbox, Victor will insist it’s a lion’s den and urge Billy to watch out. Billy will wonder if that goes for Victor too, but Victor will hint that the rules don’t apply to the lion.

Afterward on Wednesday’s Y&R episode, Lily will meet up with Billy and push for answers about his meeting with Victor, but he’ll brush it off and admit to luring her under false pretenses.

Billy will insist he’s going to be flying solo at Abbott-Chancellor, so Lily’s services are no longer needed.

Lily will be appalled over Billy trying to push her out, especially after he begged her to choose Abbott-Chancellor over her own family’s company.

Billy will argue that was before Lily started tossing around all this liability talk. When Billy suggests Lily is just much of a liability due to her time in prison, she’ll seem disgusted over him going there.

Although Billy will plan to take the financial hit and buy Lily out of her contract, she’ll refuse to just go quietly and will warn that he’s going to have a fight on his hands.

Back with Victor, he’ll make a prediction about Nikki gaining Lily’s trust and convincing her to be a team player following the takeover.

After Lily reappears looking frustrated, Nikki and Victor will realize the chasm between Lily and Billy already widening.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Billy and Lily have more faceoffs ahead of them, so stay tuned for updates on all the escalating conflict and any bad news that’s brewing.
