The Young and the Restless Wednesday, August 7 Recap: Diane Calls Kyle Home for Sick Harrison Behind Summer’s Back

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, August 7, reveals that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) came home sooner than planned since Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) wanted to get back to his own bed, so a startled Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) hid Ava Spectra’s hat under a sofa pillow.

Adam could tell Sally was on edge, but she eventually claimed she just had a bad dream. While Adam was out of the room, Sally tucked the baby’s hat away in her bag next.

Once Adam returned, he wound up ranting about Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and made a prediction about Billy’s relationship with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) not lasting long.

Adam thought Chelsea could do better and confessed that with Connor back in town, he indeed hoped Billy and Chelsea would crash and burn.

That way, Billy wouldn’t be able to influence Connor.

Sally was uncomfortable over Adam’s perspective, but the conversation shifted to losing Ava once Adam saw the hat poking out of her bag.

Adam was apologetic for shoving down his grief over the loss of Ava, but he didn’t think he could deal with it on top of all the Connor drama.

Sally understood and was just happy to have Adam’s support now, so they embraced over the memory of their baby girl.

At Crimson Lights, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) was adamant that Billy needed to leave Chancellor, but he refused and pointed out that she didn’t have the power to make him.

If anyone should be leaving, Billy felt it should be Lily for believing all the naysayers about him ruining the company.

However, Lily argued that Chancellor was vulnerable because of Billy.

Once Lily ultimately suggested Billy could take a lesser role to prevent Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) attack, he wasn’t interested in a demotion.

Next on Wednesday’s Y&R episode, Devon Hamilton-Winters (Bryton James) treated Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) to a date night, so they ended up dancing and discussed a possible vacation.

Although Devon was hesitant to leave when there was so much corporate upheaval, he finally seemed willing to work something out.

Once Billy crossed paths with Devon and Abby at the GCAC, he blew up at Devon for filling Lily’s head with negative ideas about him.

Devon thought Billy was doing that all on his own and pushed Billy to realize that he was the real problem here.

After Devon landed in bed with Abby, he seemed deep in thought as he cuddled her under the sheets.

Back with Billy, he downed some drinks and took a phone call from Chelsea, who let him know Connor was back in his room at home. Billy was eager for some Chelsea time and agreed to meet her in the morning.

Later, Billy got Lily on the phone and revealed that he had an idea, so it seemed like he was willing to negotiate.

At the Abbott mansion, Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) debated whether to take Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell) to the ER since he was feeling sick after dinner, but she opted to wait until morning since his stomach had settled a bit and he’d fallen asleep.

Summer brought Harrison there since he wanted to sleep in his own bed, so Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters) were supportive.

Right as Summer worried about Harrison relapsing, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) barged in and demanded to know what she let happen to his son.

Summer downplayed Harrison’s stomach issue and wondered if Kyle had a spy, but she quickly learned that Diane had called Kyle behind her back. Since Kyle had only made it to New York, he came rushing back home.

Diane defended her decision since she thought Kyle would want to know if Harrison was sick.

Jack backed Diane up since Summer would’ve wanted to know too if she was going out of town – even if the situation was minor.

Nevertheless, Summer acted like Diane was trying to sabotage her custody fight and lashed out.

Kyle tried to send Summer back to her hotel suite until morning, but she refused to leave since Harrison might need her.

Jack insisted Summer could stay in one of the guestrooms and spoke to Diane privately about how they needed to try to cool things off between Summer and Kyle.

Kyle thanked Diane at one point for reaching out to him about Harrison, so she was pleased over the slight thaw in their relationship.

Jack warned Diane not to get her hopes up over a terse “thank you,” but she was willing to take whatever she could get!

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Diane will keep doing her best to make progress with Kyle, so stick with us for updates on her upcoming moves and any positive news that might be brewing.
