The Young and the Restless Wednesday, July 24 Recap: Adam's Warning About Billy, Devon & Abby’s Engagement

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, July 24, reveals that Devon Hamilton-Winters (Bryton James) and Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) will be sitting at Society’s bar when Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) show up for takeout.

That’ll lead to Devon pushing for a private discussion with Lily outside, so he’ll demand to know whether she’s sticking with Billy at Chancellor or joining him at Winters.

Lily will admit she chose Billy, so Devon will feel that’s a mistake and will hope Billy doesn’t kick her to the curb in the end.

After Devon rejoins Abby and exits with her, Lily will come clean to Billy about his previous hunch being correct.

Lily will confess that she had a plan with Devon and was going to abandon him for Winters, but she saw Billy’s vision and changed her mind.

Billy will be glad Lily did and will believe they’re going to be a great team.

Although Lily will think Devon legitimately wants to work together, she’ll be convinced that he’s too much of a lone wolf and can’t really collaborate.

In the park, Devon will talk to Abby about Lily’s disappointing decision, but he’ll act like it’s good that he knows for sure what’s happening.

Now that Devon is certain that Lily’s staying at Chancellor, he’ll feel like he can move forward without her.

Devon will encourage Abby to join him at Winters, but she’ll only agree to think about it for now.

After Devon reflects on wanting someone to share the journey of his life, he’ll ask Abby to marry him and will promise to give her a proper proposal with a ring later.

Abby definitely won’t have to think about that answer and will accept Devon’s proposal enthusiastically, so they’ll seal it with a kiss.

Wednesday’s Y&R episode will also bring a belated anniversary celebration for Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), so they’ll trade gifts and reflect on their first date being a sci-fi movie under the stars.

At Newman Enterprises, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will all have questions about Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) Chancellor Industries takeover.

Victor will acknowledge that he’s still in the process of making this acquisition, but he’ll feel confident he can make it happen.

Although there’ll be concerns about Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) and Billy, Victor will act like Jill’s ready to retire and will think Billy needs to choke on his own hubris.

Nick will also bring up Lily and where she’ll land if Victor’s plan works out, so Victor will suggest that’ll be up to Nikki – though he’ll think it’d be wise to keep Lily around as an asset.

Victor will play up how he’ll protect Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) legacy and will hope Nikki can get on board with his intentions.

Nikki will wonder if Victor is still going to pursue this Chancellor takeover no matter what any of them say, but Victor will want to know her choice before he decides.

Once Nikki agrees to get back to Victor on that, she’ll privately admit to Victoria that she has no idea what she’s going to do.

Back with Victor, he’ll get Nick and Adam’s opinions on his plan.

Nick will seem skeptical due to all the resistance Victor’s going to face – and Adam will make a prediction about Victor underestimating Billy.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victor will continue to believe he can accomplish whatever he sets his mind to, so stay tuned for updates on all the dirty moves and shocking news to come.
