The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Wednesday, July 24, reveal that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will grow concerned over Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) announcement about her taking control of Chancellor Industries.
Although Nikki may think it’s a bad idea, Victor will act like there’s no one better to carry on Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) legacy.
Victor will assure Nikki that he has only the best of intentions and will try to ease her mind about the takeover he has planned.
Meanwhile, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will grill Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) about how much he knew about this.
Adam might get accused of being in cahoots with Victor and knowing he was always going to stay in the Newman Media CEO seat permanently.
However, Adam will make it clear that he’s just as blindsided by this news.
Victor didn’t give Adam a heads-up on his Chancellor-related goals, but Victoria will remain suspicious anyway.
Of course, Adam hasn’t been honest about Victor pushing him to use Newman Media to go after Jabot, but he thinks he’s handled that by refusing to sling mud in Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) direction.
Even so, there’s a good chance Victor will pressure Adam to do some things he’s uncomfortable with in the not-too-distant future.
Victor isn’t satisfied unless he’s testing the limits of his children’s loyalty, so Adam may have some challenges ahead of him.
Next on Wednesday’s Y&R episode, Devon Hamilton-Winters (Bryton James) will take a stroll in the park with Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) before they ultimately rest on a bench.
It looks like that’ll bring a conversation about Abby and Devon’s love as well as their life together.
Devon will eventually blurt out a marriage proposal that Abby doesn’t see coming.
Once Devon pushes Abby to marry him, she’ll have to consider whether she’s ready for that huge step.
Fortunately, this isn’t the first time Abby and Devon have talked about the possibility of tying the knot one day.
That’s something Devon and Abby have discussed being open to, so it seems likely Abby will accept once she gets over the shock.
Our Y&R predictions point to Devon asking for Victor’s approval soon, so stay tuned for Victor’s reaction to his proposal updates.
