Tom Selleck Could Lose Ranch In California With “Blue Bloods” Cancellation

At the age of 79, Tom Selleck is experiencing a ton of changes. His crime drama, Blue Bloods, has been cancelled by CBS and is ending later in 2024, which could mean he will also have to give up his beloved ranch in California.

Could Tom Selleck Really Lose His California Ranch?

During a chat with CBS Sunday Morning, Selleck talked about his success acting career, which has spanned decades now, and noted, “You know, hopefully I keep working enough to hold onto the place.”

“The place” he is referring to is his 63-acre ranch located in Ventura County, in the state of California. He bought it in the late ‘80s after quitting Magnum: PI. The reporter was completely caught off guard after Selleck noted he could lose his ranch, replying to the actor, “Seriously, that’s an issue? If you stop working?”

Selleck stated back, “That’s always an issue. If I stopped working, yeah. Am I set for life? Yeah, but maybe not on a 63-acre ranch!”

The actor will likely continue to work in show business, even after Blue Bloods wraps up at the end of this year. He notes during the CBS Sunday Morning interview that, “As an actor, you never lose – I don’t lose, anyway – that sense that every time I finish a job, it’s my last job. I like the fact that there’s no excuses!”

He goes on to say, “You just go to work, and you do the work. And I have a lot of reverence for what I call ‘the work,’ and I love it. And I’d like to keep doing it.”

Tom Selleck Hopes CBS “Comes To Their Senses”

While Blue Bloods, which has been on the air since 2010, is scheduled to end sometime in December 2024, Selleck is holding out hope that the decision could be reversed.

He notes during the interview that he hopes CBS comes ‘to their senses’. He points out that Blue Bloods is the third-highest scripted show in all of broadcast, and it wins the night.

Selleck states that everyone in the cast wants to come back, and goes on to say, “We’re doing good shows, and still holding our place. So, I don’t know. You tell me!”
