On tonight’s Tracker episode, Colter Shaw was back for an all new season. He and his team should have been taking on new cases, but Colter was still stuck on an old one. He investigated the disappearance of Gina Picket. She disappeared ten years ago. She was last seen at work. She was leaving when she just disappeared.

She never made it home. She never called any of her loved ones. She was just gone. The chief suspect in her disappearance was Frank. Colter thought Frank was behind it. He worked the case ten years ago. He tried to find evidence to prove Frank did it and he never found anything. And ever since then he always pays a visit to Frank’s home to demand answers on the anniversary of Gina’s disappearance.

Again, it’s been ten years. Frank’s not talking. He knows he got away with it. He also doesn’t call the cops on Colter anymore. Frank seems to like toying with Colter and Colter makes sure that Frank doesn’t forget Gina.

It was after Colter paid Frank his yearly visit that his friends gave him a new case. There was a family that disappeared in Pine Bluffs, Arkansas. There was a thirty-five thousand dollar reward out for the family. They were a family of four. There was a mom, dad, and two kids. Their car was found. It appeared to have been abandoned on the road.

Ted King’s brother Craig hired Colter. He and his brother have a family business. It was in trouble for a while because Ted has a gambling problem. He owed a lot of dangerous people money.

Only that should have been resolved by now. Ted won the lottery. He won fifty grand in a scratch-off. It was a lot of money for that small town. Ted as well as his family were all featured in the paper after they won. It was because they won that the US Marshalls were now investigating their disappearance. There was another lottery winner that got abducted and was forced to sign over the money he won.

The marshals thought that could have happened with the King family. Or so they claimed when they told Colter to stand down. They didn’t want his help. They didn’t have any kind of respect for a rewardist.

Colter chose to ignore their order to stay away because he became invested in what happened. He saw that the family intentionally abandoned their car on the road. They made treks into the woods nearby and doubled back to hide from someone. This case wasn’t about the lottery money.

Colter’s theory about it being something else paid off when he found the kids. The parents left their kids in the woods. Hidden. They told their kids that when abandoned the car that they should leave behind their cell phones.

This included all tech. Their son who was just a kid didn’t listen. He brought along his tablet. His father took it from him when he ran off with the mom. Colter made sure the kids were safe with their uncle and he confronted the marshal in charge. He shot down their claim that all of this was about the lottery money.

Colter had Bobby look into the parents. Ted was who he said he was. His wife however was going by a fake name. There was no history of Connie King before 2015. Colter realized she was in WITSEC.

Connie was a protected federal witness. Her real name is Rachel. She helped take down the Garner crime family. She was married to the boss’s son, Kirk. She hated their lifestyle. She wanted to break away. She helped put Kirk’s father behind bars. Kirk found out what she did. He’s been trying to kill her for years and so she went into hiding.

Connie started over. She found Ted. They got married. They have two beautiful kids. She thought she left that life behind her and they were fine until they made it into the local paper.

Her ex-husband found her because of that article. Connie and Ted left the kids by themselves so that they could hide their tracks. They then split up. Ted was found. He was being tortured when Colter found him. He got Ted to safety. He just needed to find Connie and he wasn’t the only one looking for her. Connie’s ex-husband killed US Marshal Jeremy Boyd to get close to Colter. He pretended to be the marshal.

He continued to be a fake marshal when he went to Craig’s home. He stabbed Craig. He got close to the two children and he was a real danger to them. Connie left something out. She forgot to mention that Kirk believes her son was his. He thought Brett was his kid. Colter went to Craig’s home with Connie. They saw Kirk.

He was willing to let Connie go with her husband and daughter as long as he got to keep his son. Kirk wouldn’t even listen to Connie when she claimed he got the timing off. She tried to tell him that Brett wasn’t his. He refused to believe her. And so that’s when Colter’s backup plan came into effect.

Colter got Kirk to give Brett a chance to say goodbye to his mom. When Brett was out of the way, the marshals shot and killed Kirk. The King family were now safe.

They reunited at the hospital where Ted was being treated. The whole family will soon be moved by WITSEC once he recovers. They were going to be somewhere safer while the crime family were now facing additional charges. Like conspiracy to kidnap a child. The King family also wanted to pay Colter the reward money that Craig promised him, but he turned it down. They were going to need that money to start over.

Colter later skipped a party with his friends to go see Gina’s sister. The two of them have a routine whenever Colter was back in town. They would sleep together and discuss Gina’s case. Colter even told her that he found a bag of dirt in Frank’s freezer.

He broke into Frank’s home. The fridge was empty. It was just the bag of dirt that seemed out of place. It was so weird that he felt he had to mention it. And once again Colter got the sister’s hopes up about finding evidence against Frank.

THE END!
