According to a report, Paramount Studios’ production company, Awesomeness, has a new series in the works, titled “Blue Bloods”.
As the CBS TV series, Blue Bloods, starring Tom Selleck, will be airing its last season this coming fall/winter, fans were excited to hear about this new development; however, it looks like some signals have been crossed as the actor, as well as another favorite, Donnie Walberg, will not be involved in this new project.
The New “Blue Bloods” Series Is All About Vampires
As per a Deadline report, the new Blue Bloods series is based on the series of books by Melissa de la Cruz. Some fans may believe that the “name” has been stolen from the CBS television drama, but the police show was released in 2010, while the books were first launched in 2006.
The novels center around vampires and have spinoff books, graphic novels, and companion books. It follows fallen angels from Lucifer’s army who fall to Earth and live as vampires.
The book highlights the story of Schuyler (Sky) Van Alen, a ‘Half-Blood’, the only one of her kind, who finds out she part of this immortal family when she’s 15. The series will center around Sky, who is now 17 years of age.
No release date has been set, as of yet. Jacquie Walters will serve as both executive producer and writer of the new series.
CBS Announces Premiere Date For “Blue Bloods” Series Final
Meanwhile, over to the “other” Blue Bloods, it looks like there is no chance for an immortal life for this show, as it is gearing up to end its run. While fans, as well as Tom Selleck, have tried to petition another season of the police drama, it is ending. CBS announced the premiere date for Blue Bloods will be Friday, October 18, with the last eight episodes airing in the fall/winter season.
