White Collar Reboot Set, Starring Matt Bomer, Tiffany Thiessen, and Tim DeKay

Creator Jeff Eastin was at Variety’s TV Fest when he shared that a White Collar reboot was in the works. While on a panel with Matt Bomer, Tiffany Thiessen, and Tim DeKay, Eastin notes, “We’re gonna reboot. I’m writing the script.”

Bomer, Thiessen, and DeKay noted that they are in for the reboot, with Dekay stating, “It’s a fantastic script, and it answers all the questions that one would have if you watch the show, and it would introduce the show to those who haven’t seen it as well. Both edges of the sword are honed.”

White Collar Reboot: More On What Fans Should Expect

White Collar premiered in 2009, and the police procedural series had six seasons before it ended in 2014. There have been a ton of rumors over recent years that the show could be rebooted, and it looks like it’s finally coming to fruition.

There are no details around the plot, and Eastin did note he “left things open-ended” when he crafted the series finale, about a decade ago. Still, after the show hit Netflix in 2023, the momentum of a White Collar reboot grew strong.

One known fact is that the reboot will remember the late Willie Garson, who played Mozzie. The actor passed away in 2021. DeKay stated, “It honors Willie, too, in a profound way.”

Thiessen chimed in on DeKay’s sentiments noting, “With such sensitivity and such heart. I told Jeff after I finished it, I literally was so excited, but at the same time had tears in my eyes — for good reason. You captured the suspense, the thrill, the characters, and the love in that reboot.”

White Collar Reboot: Where Will It Air

Variety has said that the White Collar reboot will probably stream on Hulu. Then again, it originally aired on USA Network, owned by NBCUniversal, so there’s also a possibility of it ending up on Peacock. With that being said, the studio it was produced in was Fox Television, and Disney owns the IP, so there’s a chance that it could land there, too.

While nothing is confirmed as of this writing, DeKay did reveal that the “hope” is the show will land on a “particular streamer”. Only time will tell.
