The wait is finally over for Yellowstone fans! The show has officially released the official premiere date for the last batch of episodes. It’s been more than a year since Season 5 aired (thanks to the strikes), which caused a “pushback” in production for the second part of the season.
Now, a new report from Variety reveals Paramount has confirmed Yellowstone will begin Season 5, Part 2 on Sunday, November 10.
Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2: Will Kevin Costner Return?
As of this writing, it’s unclear if Kevin Costner will return as John Dutton. While he did leave the show at the end of Season 5’s Part 1, he since has stated he wants to come back to give John Dutton closure before the series finale.
Regarding a return, Costner told Variety, “I’ve supported that thing and I’ve loved it. It’s been really important to me. I would love to go back under the right circumstances I think that all of us want. For me, it really needs to be the right circumstances. Saying there’s a chance, there’s always a chance. I love the thing. You’ve got to be really clear about that.”
While Yellowstone is still in production, there are only six episodes left in Season 5, so it’s hard to say if Costner’s request would be fulfilled or not.
Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2: The Show Will Be Missed
In May 2023, it was announced that Yellowstone had been canceled and was set to end after Season 5. Of course, fans reeled at the news; however, the silver lining in all this was that there were spinoffs viewers could turn to, including 1923 (currently in Season 2).
While spinoffs helped ease the blow, fans will undeniably miss the Dutton family and their Yellowstone era.
