In tonight’s 7 Little Johnstons episode, it’s the holidays for the family. They were kicking off the season at Anna’s house that year. Trent and Emma went over to her house to decorate the place beforehand, but that year was especially difficult for Trent. He’s been suffering from vertigo for a while. He gets dizzy just fixing the little things.
He once got dizzy by fixing the showerhead and so that year he really shouldn’t have volunteered to decorate the rooftop in lights. Only that’s Trent for you. He constantly pushes himself to make sure that his kids have the best.
The kids themselves didn’t always understand why he was like that. They thought he was pushing himself too much until Elizabeth became a parent herself. Elizabeth was a new mom.
Her baby was a month old. She got her daughter into a routine and everything was fine a for a bit. Then it all changed. Leighton refused to go along with the routine after a month. She barely lets her parents sleep. She went from giving them two hours to only giving them about thirty minutes. Leighton was a fussy baby around her parents.
She was also an angel around her grandparents. Trent and Amber babysat their granddaughter on Elizabeth’s first time out of the house. Elizabeth’s birthday was around the holidays.
She turned twenty-two and so she went out with Brice to have a few hours to themselves and it turns out its hard to disengage. She missed her baby within minutes. She constantly checked her phone. She was worried about Leighton feeding without her. The only reason she didn’t constantly call home was the fact she knew her parents had everything handled.
The baby was fine without them. She tried to smile with Trent. Amber figured out the best way to feed her without getting tired. Leighton was an average size baby and her grandparents were used to little people.
They knew they could handle Leighton at a month old. The problem would be when she’s six months old because she might be too long for them to carry. Thankfully, that was a problem for a future date. Leighton’s Lolli and Boppa were okay now with the baby. They fed her. They put her down to sleep. She didn’t fuss too much.
Elizabeth and Brice were back within an hour. Elizabeth didn’t even drink. She wanted to rush back home to her baby and she later heard about the formula debate.
Trent smelled the formula when Amber was feeding the baby. He was so disgusted by it that it actually turned into a debate. The smells of the formula puts everything off. Jonah thought it smelled like dog food that went bad. The formula becoming a prominent smell in the house for the past month wasn’t helpful for anybody.
The one person that got to escape the smell was Anna. Anna lived in her own place. She also was getting back into the dating scene. She agreed with her best friend that they should have a double date only she hasn’t found anyone since agreeing to that. Now, her friend wants to set her up on a blind date.
Anna was trying to get out of that while her parents were making some tough decisions. Trent’s dad wasn’t well. He hasn’t been well for some time. Trent would like to have his dad live with them so that he could take care of him. And he couldn’t do that because they didn’t have room.
They have four out of five children living with them. Along with Brice and the new baby. They simply didn’t have the room for Poppy. They also couldn’t give him the full care he needs. Trent hated he couldn’t do that for his dad and yet he still made sure that his dad was receiving care even if it wasn’t from him. He also remained present with his own children. They had a gift-wrapping challenge. Amber won overall. Brice won among the guys. He apparently does the wrapping with his own family.
They also had a family photo. Amber got them matching Christmas pajamas. Even Leighton had one and they somehow made Brice being taller than all of them work. It was a great photo. Leighton pooped right before it.
She might have started rebelling early and Anna supports her in that decision. Anna tried getting out of the photo herself. She claimed she left her pajamas at home. Which didn’t faze Amber in the slightest because she had backups. Amber wasn’t going to let anyone escape the family photo.
And in the final moments of tonight. Trent surprised his family with a white Christmas. He rented a machine. It needed solution and it created the appearance of snow.
They don’t normally get snow because they live in Georgia. So, the machine and fake snow was the closest they’ll ever get to real snow. Leighton loved it. Her first Christmas was really special
