Beyond the Gates (BTG) spoilers indicate the new soap dropped a major bombshell this week when it revealed two new additions to the cast, General Hospital’s (GH) Jon Lindstrom (Kevin Collins/Ryan Chamberlain) and soap opera veteran Cady McClain.
Lindstrom recently shared his excitement about his new sudsy gig on the social media platform, X.
Uploading two photos, one being at a BTG promo picture featuring The Dupree Family, and another promoting this week’s five-part special on the new soap hosted by Entertainment Tonight, “Welcome to the Neighborhood”, the actor provided some interesting tidbits on his new character.
In the caption, Lindstrom reveals he’s been quiet lately, but not because he wanted to. The actor likely didn’t want to spill his BTG news before it was supposed to be announced, right?
In his X post, Lindstrom goes on to say, “I’ve been keeping a low profile as I commute to the wonderful world of Beyond the Gates, created by my brilliant dear friend, Michele Val Jean.”
He goes on to say, “Personally, I think this show is going to blow the roof off daytime & I could not be more proud to make even a small contribution to this ground-breaker.”
Then, Lindstrom talks a little about his new BTG character, who seems to be a bit sketchy.
BTG audiences may already know that Lindstrom is slated step into the role of ‘Joey Armstrong’, who is a casino owner, and the actor describes him as a bit of an entrepreneur of sorts.
Still, things turn a tad dark in Lindstrom’s X post when he states that much like him, Joey doesn’t like it when people owe him money.
The actor then implies that, unlike Joey, he won’t cut a person’s hand off if they owe him $10.
Anyone owing Lindstrom money can breath a sigh relief; however, it sounds like Joey Armstrong is a character that people shouldn’t mess with!
Of course, Lindstrom is no stranger to playing shady characters in the land of soaps, he once portrayed serial killer psychopath Ryan Chamberlain on GH for years!
With that said, as he enters this new role, and is currently still in the land of Port Charles playing Kevin Collins, fans can’t help but wonder if his GH days are now numbered. Only time will tell!
Beyond the Gates spoilers suggest the proverbial poop is about to hit the fan, behind the gates of Fairmont Crest when the historic soap premieres on Monday, February 24 at 2 p.m. ET on CBS.
It’ll be interesting to see the role Joey Armstrong plays in storylines, and the dynamic Lindstrom will bring to the show.
