Beyond the Gates (BTG) spoilers suggest that after months of speculation, the day has finally arrived!
Soap fans have been anticipating the premiere of the very first soap to hit the airwaves in over 25 years, as CBS, along with BTG’s cast and executive team have worked hard to promote the new show.
So, what should fans expect for the very first episode?
It sounds like the show will zero in on the centerpiece of the daytime drama’s storylines for its debut: The Dupree family.
They are the four characters plastered on BTG’s promo posters and were the focal point on the billboard above the Paramount+ building in New York’s Times Square, so it’s natural that the show would want to introduce audiences to the family first, before anyone else.
BTG viewers will get their feet wet with some scenes between Dupree matriarch and patriarch Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie) and Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis), as well as their daughters Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley) and Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson (Daphnée Duplaix).
Of course, the family is wealthy, highly influential, and powerful. Vernon is a former senator, who was at the forefront of the civil rights movement in the sixties.
While he’s got a kind and gentle heart, he rules his family with an iron fist.
Meanwhile, his wife Anita is a former singer, who wasn’t born rich, but now certainly enjoys the lifestyle she’s grown accustomed to. She also happens to be the backbone of the Duprees.
Nicole is their eldest, “perfect” daughter, while Dani is their wild child! Dani started a modeling career but quickly dropped those aspirations when she met and fell in love with Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett).
The two had been married for 35 years, and shared two daughters of their own, Naomi Hamilton Hawthorne (Arielle Prepetit) and Chelsea Hamilton (RhonniRose Mantilla), until Bill cheated on Dani with one of his daughters’ best friends, Hayley Lawson (Marquita Goings).
Hayley and Bill are now engaged; however, fans can expect the proverbial poop to hit the fan during BTG’s debut show, as there will likely be a major confrontation between Dani and Hayley!
From the sounds of it, the Bill/Dani/Hayley storyline will be one of the bigger arcs BTG will zero in on, as Dani unleashes her rage in the days and weeks ahead on both her ex-husband and the reason for their marriage crumbling: his mistress/fiancé.
Beyond the Gates spoilers hint fans should brace themselves for sizzling scenes, explosive face-offs, chaos, intrigue and so much more during the week of February 24-28, as the new daytime drama hits.
