In tonight’s Chicago PD episode, the police finally identified one member of the terrorist group that brought down a building. Her name is Margaret Simshaw. She goes by the nickname, Greta.
She used to work for the city until the city screwed her over. She had cancer. She felt it happened because of her work for the city, but they refused to cover her hospital bills or her disability once she could no longer work.
They were horrible to her. They were probably horrible to other people as well. Greta worked with two men to steal millions of dollars from the City’s Pension Plan. She may have been romantically involved with one of the men. And odds are she met men who had also been screwed by over the city.
Greta was a single mother. She doesn’t have family. She was going through a divorce and her ex-husband had no idea she would do this. He knew about the new boyfriend. He just never suspected she’d become a terrorist.
Or that their daughter would be near the blast. Then again Ellie followed her mother. She must have suspected something was up and the cops tried to talk to her, but Ellie wouldn’t talk to the police unless she saw her mom. She didn’t realize that they were trying to protect her.
Her mom was in so much pain. She was covered in burns. She didn’t like her mother anymore and no one wanted that to be the little girl’s last memory of her mother. Even if her mother was a terrorist. Greta caused the deaths of a lot of people. More could still die on the train.
There was a train trapped under rubble in the subway tunnels and they were running out of air. Ruzek was one of the people trapped down there. He had found a man he thought could be one of the terrorists. He had been wrong about that because his friends morse code back that the suspected checked out.
Only they didn’t get that message on the train. The man that was translating their morse code was their terrorist. He was controlling the flow of information and he was keeping Ruzek in the dark. The cops later found the third terrorist. He tried to run from them. He jumped from one roof to another.
He would have died right away if Voight hadn’t pulled him up. You know what Voight got for that? Betrayal. The guy still pulled a gun on Voight and he accidentally fell back off the roof. He was killed instantly for his stupidity.
Trudy thankfully made it through surgery. Her heartbeat returned when she warmed up. She came to not long after that and the first thing she said was it was “two offenders”.
She was still in cop mode. She even gave her husband her blessing to return to the field. She knew that if she had been in his shoes that she would want to make sure her people were safe too. Mouch rejoined the team. The cops had found out where the terrorists were meeting up and they found out one of them had actually written books on Capone’s secret tunnels.
Now it’s been a century since Capone built those tunnels. There’s no telling what condition they were in. It was considered a dangerous job to follow them to the train and naturally everyone volunteered.
They all worked to save one of their own. This went for the cops as well. They went into Capone’s secret tunnel. They knocked down walls. They were reaching the train when their suspect decided to stop pretending. He pulled his gun. He took Kidd hostage. He was willing to hinder the rescue plans as long as he didn’t go to jail.
The idiot disregarded Kidd. She fought back. She and Ruzek were tackling him when the other firefighters joined in. They were fighting for the gun when it went off. Their third terrorist was killed in the scuffle. With him out of the way, they rescued everyone on the train. It was a bad day that ended on a good note.
The only one that didn’t enjoy the happy ending was the secret fourth member of this terroristic group. It turns out the security guard who used to be a cop was behind all of it. Bates had also gotten screwed over by the city.
She had cancer. She’s dying. She wanted to leave her family some money and was willing to shoot Trudy in the back. Trudy and Bates go way back. They joined the police department at the same time.
They came up together. Yet, Bates still tried to kill her. The evidence was found at the motel they used. She didn’t even get the money. The cryptocurrency was found on the guy that died in the tunnels. Ruzek collected it and it was going to be filed in evidence. Bates was going to spend her last few days in prison broke and alone.
And Ruzek had to apologize to the man he falsely accused of being a terrorist. He treated that guy like crap and he might sued get for it.
THE END!
