In tonight’s Chicago PD episode, Officer Dante Torres was a man of God. He has a crucifix tattooed on his back. He never missed a Sunday at church. He even reads the bible sometimes just to give his mind a rest.

It was his faith that helped him through every hurt. Every loss. Every poor decision. Torres was a good man. He sometimes forgets that and that’s when life reminds him.

Torres was serving out a warrant when he saw blood on a garage door. He asked the man who owned the garage about it. He denied knowing anything about the blood or who it belonged to. And so Torres looked through a window to see if anything was inside.

He came across a body. The body was of fifteen year old, Kai Anderson. His prints are in the system because he’s currently serving time at a juvenile facility nearby. The place is called Maron. Torres recognized the place. He was once sent there himself. He knows they run a tight ship. Yet, Kai somehow managed to escape.

He was killed not long after doing so. He was beaten to death with some object. It wasn’t found near the body. There also wasn’t any sign of a struggle in the garage. Kai wasn’t attacked on the outside.

The police went through Maron’s security footage. They found the moment when Kai escaped. He was already beaten up and limping as he fled to protect himself. He got into that guy’s garage because he was afraid of being found.

He was hiding there. He sadly also died there because of some internal bleeding. Meaning his killer was someone at Maron. Maron was shut down for a while. It reopened about two years ago. They’ve received plenty of complaints about neglect and an increase in violence since it reopened.

Voight had his people look into everyone working there. Atwater found out that one guy quit the place in less than a year. He moved to Detroit. He also hung up on Atwater the second he heard “Maron”.

Before this disgruntled employee left, he also tried to file charges against facilities. He claimed it was dangerous for children. The children were unfortunately still there and so Voight sent in Torres undercover. Torres took a job as a guard at the facility. The first thing he heard when he got there was that Kai’s roommate was in solitary.

The cops visited the place the day Kai’s body was found. They tried to talk to Tommy Lopez. He had nothing to say. He claimed he was asleep when Kai escaped. He also said he never talked to Kai. They were roommates for about a month and naturally the cops didn’t believe Tommy’s story that he heard and saw nothing.

Then Tommy suddenly gets thrown into solitary? The guards apparently found drugs in his bunk. He was put in solitary for that and he also allegedly tried to punch a guard that escorted him there. The guards all warned Torres about Tommy.

They all claimed that Tommy was a problem. Torres was the one that dropped off food for Tommy. He spoke to him a little bit and he did his best to advise the young man. Whatever he said must have gotten through to Tommy because he wasn’t looking for trouble. He told Torres to tell Art he didn’t say anything.

The cop knew who that was. Torres was informed about Art Cervantes. The young man has the cross tattooed on his neck along with scripture. He reminded Torres of himself until a guard warned him about Art being worse than the devil.

Torres kept a close eye on Art after he spoke with Tommy. He saw where Art was hiding his cell phone. Torres got it and he brought it to his team. It sadly revealed that Art was pimping out the kids at Maron.

The pedophiles that paid him were usually brought to the facility to sleep with the kids. It also explained why no one was watching the security footage when Kai escaped. The guards must be in on it. Someone within the facility was calling the shots. The kids thought Art was in charge and he wasn’t. There was someone above him.

Torres still believed there was hope for Art. Art got into a fight with Tommy in the cafeteria. It led to a riot. The whole place went on lockdown. Torres flipped out when he couldn’t open a door. It reminded him of his time there. Torres took a minute to calm down and that’s when he learned Tommy was missing.

Tommy wasn’t in his usual cell. He wasn’t in solitary. Torres went to Art. He identified himself as a cop. He said he could help if Art would just tell him where Tommy was. Art said he was in the basement.

There’s a mattress down in the basement. There was also a camera set up to film everything that happened on that mattress. Torres could only guess what happened when Tommy was brought down there. There was a door to the outside from the basement. Whoever hurt Tommy escaped before Torres could stop them.

Tommy was so traumatized that he couldn’t talk. Torres could only talk to Art again. Art was trafficked himself. He didn’t want to keep getting sexually assaulted. He made a deal with his abuser in which he groomed the other boys for him to use. And Art identified this man.

It was CO Collins. Torres thought he was friendly at first. Then he saw what happened to those boys and he went in hot at Collins’s home. The man tried blockade door. The cops were forced to break it down. Torres was first through the door. He tried to get Collins to give himself up, but Collins said those boys were already broken.

He then pulled a gun out and Torres was forced to kill him. Maron was going to be a better place without him. Lots of people were getting fired for not noticing a child sex ring in the basement.

Art had to go back to the building and the only reassurance that it will be different was Torres’s promise.

THE END!
