Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Jen Lilley (Theresa Donovan) has been busy with other projects ever since Emily O’Brien took over the role of Theresa, who’s currently serving time at Statesville. That said, plenty of DOOL fans still miss Lilley and would like to see her on Days again someday.
Would Jen Lilley ever consider reprising the part of Theresa Donovan somewhere down the line? Here’s what Lilley had to say in a recent interview with SOD.
“I’d definitely be open to returning to the role, even for a longer arc, but soaps shoot all year, versus prime-time series or movies that only film for a few months and have a hiatus,” Lilley said.
After admitting soaps require an actor to commit on a deeper level, Lilley pointed out that her family comes first.
Since Lilley doesn’t want to spend too much time away from her kids as they’re growing up, that’s a hurdle when it comes to any long-term storylines.
“So, while I’d love to come back in smaller arcs when the timing is right, I’m not in a position to take on the full-time commitment that Days demands,” Lilley added.
Even so, Jen Lilley was quick to note that Theresa is her favorite character she’s ever portrayed.
It’s clear that Lilley looks back on her time at Days fondly and feels honored to have been part of Theresa’s journey.
However, Lilley confessed she was stunned over a story development that happened during O’Brien’s run as Theresa Donovan.
When Lilley got updates on the Victoria Kiriakis (Islay and Paisley Kerr) kidnapping twist, she was truly taken aback.
Lilley recalled all the turmoil that Theresa went through when Tate Black (Leo Howard) was snatched, so she thought Theresa’s kidnapper storyline “felt really out of character” considering how much the character had evolved.
Still, Lilley likes playing the character overall, so you never know what might happen down the road! Would you like to see Lilley back as Theresa Donovan at some point?
