Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, January 3, reveals that Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) was surprised when Chanel Dupree DiMera (Raven Bowens) appeared after spending the night in her mom’s guest room.
Chanel admitted that she’d left Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and delivered the news that he cheated with Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins).
However, Paulina realized there was more to the story since Johnny didn’t actually sleep with Joy and thought Chanel had cheated on him at the time.
Paulina wondered why Chanel was so upset and stood up for Johnny a bit, but Chanel insisted it was still cheating and was unforgivable.
In the end, Paulina basically suggested she was just trying to see Johnny’s side of things, but assured Chanel she had her support.
At the Body & Soul office, Abe Carver (James Reynolds) got updates on the whole situation from Johnny and suggested Chanel needed time.
Although Abe still had hope for Johnny and Chanel’s marriage, he made a prediction about Johnny having to put in the work.
Once Abe headed home and talked to Paulina, she admitted she didn’t think Chanel would forgive Johnny anytime soon.
Next on Friday’s Days episode, there was some awkwardness as Joy woke up in bed with Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson).
Joy was glad Alex wasn’t married, but she still worried about slipping up if he was hung up on Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein).
Alex insisted things were over with Stephanie and that she was moving on with her ex, Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier).
Joy wound up making out with Alex as they prepared to go another round in bed.
In the town square on Friday’s Days episode, Chanel hung up on Johnny after he called. When Chanel saw Joy sitting on a bench, she clacked over in her heels to confront her.
At the Hernandez house, JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) was canoodling with Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) in bed when they heard a smash.
Once JJ armed himself with a tennis racket, Gabi joined him as they got ready to go up against their intruder.
It turned out to just be Javi Hernandez (Al Calderon), who had broken a bowl while trying to make New Year’s Day pancakes.
Once Javi met JJ, he finished making the pancakes and dropped hints that left Gabi worried he was thinking about Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart).
Javi teased Gabi and JJ about their romantic rekindling before taking off on Friday’s DOOL show.
Although JJ thought he’d better go too, Gabi pointed out she was taking the week off from work.
Since JJ didn’t start back at the Salem PD until tomorrow, he asked if Gabi wanted to spend the day together – and she accepted the offer.
At Stephanie’s apartment on Friday’s Days episode, she dreamed Alex was making love to her and woke up to find Philip next to her instead.
Philip got Stephanie to admit she’d been having a sizzling dream about Alex, so he worried staying over was a huge mistake.
Although Philip thought he could help Stephanie move on, he insisted that he’d failed.
Last night wasn’t just a romp for old times’ sake as far as Philip was concerned; he was genuinely interested in starting up a relationship with Stephanie again.
If Stephanie didn’t feel the same way, Philip thought they should just end this now before it was too late.
Stephanie acknowledged that her situation with Alex was like Philip’s situation with Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin), so they couldn’t just turn off all their residual feelings.
That said, Stephanie felt that Alex was her past and wanted to focus on Philip now.
After Stephanie convinced Philip to stick around for breakfast, he made her some special eggs and enjoyed flirting with her.
Stephanie assured Philip that she had a good time last night as they said their goodbyes in the doorway.
Alex returned home following his own hot night with Joy, so things were uncomfortable as he greeted Stephanie and Philip in the hallway.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Alex and Stephanie will find their way back to each other eventually, but they’ll continue to make some wrong choices for now.
