Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that there are three reasons why Chanel Dupree DiMera (Raven Bowens) and Johnny DiMera’s (Carson Boatman) adoption plan will end in disaster, so let’s discuss the drama that’s brewing.
Although it’s looking like Johnny and Chanel will try to adopt Tate Black (Leo Howard) and Sophia Choi’s (Rachel Boyd) baby, some huge hurdles are on the way.
Amy Choi (Shi Ne Nielson) finally understands that Tate and Sophia just want what’s best for the baby, so she’s willing to consider approving this adoption.
That said, Amy is obviously going to have very high standards when it comes to picking the right couple to raise her grandchild.
That brings us to the reasons why this adoption may not pan out.
1) Sinister DiMera fears
The DiMeras are known for being one of the most sinister families in Salem, so it’s hard to believe Amy will support the idea of this baby becoming part of that world.
Amy may argue that Johnny and Chanel’s last name should automatically rule them out!
It’s easy to imagine Amy bringing up the fact that Rachel Black (Finley Rose) just ran away from Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) and that child protective services got involved.
Amy may not want her grandkid growing up in a similar risky environment.
2) Devil possession story
Of course, Amy also wants the couple adopting Sophia and Tate’s baby to be religious. Chanel and Johnny won’t be the churchgoing duo that Amy anticipated, so that’s going to be a strike against them.
However, Amy’s complaints may go a step further since multiple members of Johnny’s family were possessed by the devil, including Johnny himself.
Days spoilers suggest that could make Amy demand that Sophia and Tate choose another couple.
3) The real father could claim his child
Despite Sophia’s insistence that this is Tate’s baby, many Days fans suspect that’s not the case. DOOL may be gearing up for a twist if Sophia slept with someone else off-screen.
If Tate and Sophia stand against all Amy’s complaints and try to give this baby to Chanel and Johnny anyway, there could be another snag.
The real father may get updates on his child and step up to claim him or her.
We could envision Aaron Greene (Louis Tomeo) returning to Salem and realizing the timing fits for him to be the baby daddy.
Aaron might push for a paternity test and refuse to sign off on this adoption if he’s indeed the bio dad.
Even if Days sticks with Tate’s father status, it’s possible he could want to keep the baby along with Sophia in the end.
In other words, Chanel and Johnny may be doomed for a heartbreaking loss any way you slice it!
