Sharon was reconnecting with her stepsister. Sharon and Mickey’s parents got married when they were both young. They grew up with each other. They saw each other as sisters until an arrest separated them. Mickey’s father was arrested. Sharon’s mom divorced him when he went to prison. Mickey and Sharon tried to maintain their relationship, but things got complicated after they both became parents. Sharon had the troubled son. The one that went to prison. She always felt like Mickey judged her for that and she wasn’t wrong. Mickey did judge her until her only child also turned out to be an addict.
Mickey’s daughter was back in rehab tonight. Skye relapsed. With her away, Mickey turned to Sharon. They had a night for themselves and were having fun when the past came calling. Mickey’s father was reaching out to Sharon. Wes Fox was released from prison. He was now running an illegal drugs operation. He was also getting Bode into trouble. Bode was doing some side work for Wes. He didn’t have a part in the drugs. He was just clearing away trees and bushes. Bode later had to explain himself to Officer Carson.
Technically, Bode was breaking parole by hanging out with a known criminal. He was told to stop working for Wes and Mickey was telling Sharon to not accept help from Wes. Wes heard about Walter. He knew that the facility where Walter was now living was expensive. He wanted to give Sharon fifty grand. It was all in cash. There was also a lot more where that came from and so Sharon was tempted to accept the help. It was Mickey that reminded her she couldn’t. It was dirty money. Wes got in thanks to being a crook.
Wes hasn’t learned anything since prison. He didn’t even care that Mickey was now the Sheriff. She should be arresting him for what he was doing and she wasn’t because she still loves him. She doesn’t want to arrest her own father. She also couldn’t look the other way forever. Her father was trying to rope in Sharon because he was mad at Mickey. Mickey wouldn’t let him contact his granddaughter. She told Skye’s rehab that Wes was a bad influence. She wasn’t wrong because Wes tends to gang up with Skye and they thought Mickey was the problem. They believe she’s the one that was at fault for Skye’s addiction.
Mickey had to tell her father to stay away from Sharon tonight. She didn’t know that Bode was working for him, but Bode’s probation officer was warning him to cut off all contact. Bode didn’t want to back to prison and so he agreed to quit working for Wes. He was also going to return the money Wes paid him. Only Wes wouldn’t take it. He said Bode earned that. Bode was about to leave when Wes got bit by a rattlesnake. It was odd because those things are usually loud thanks to the rattle tale.
Wes got bit because he didn’t hear the snake. Somone had removed its tale. They were intentionally trying to kill Wes and went as far as to toss the antivenom he had at his office. Bode had to drive Wes to the fire station. Wes knew they carried antivenom there. He didn’t want to go the hospital. The hospital would hold him for forty-eight hours. Wes couldn’t stay away from his “farm” for that long. Not when he knew someone was trying to kill him. It also didn’t help that his daughter was sniffing around the case.
Mickey wanted to know who was trying to kill her father. Wes told her that he suspected it was Mojave Sutton. The guy just got out of prison. Mojave allegedly told Wes that it was time for fresh blood on the mountain. Mickey wanted to go talk to Mojave. Wes convinced her to take Bode with her. Bode has some street cred and he helped Mojave once before. Mojave agreed to talk to them. He didn’t know who tried to kill Wes. He only knew that Wes doesn’t have it in him anymore now that he turned into a snitch.
It got Mickey thinking. She knew her father would never become a snitch. He would on the other hand send her running after the wrong suspect while he took care of the guy trying to kill him. Mickey called the hospital. Her father never showed. He got the antivenom at the fire station. He then snuck off when Mickey’s back was turned. She wanted to go after him and she had to bring Bode along. Bode knew where the farm was. Mickey was blindfolded the last few times she went up the mountain.
Bode drove her to the weed farm. They both saw Wes arguing with Ozzy. Ozzy Morales was Wes’s second in command. Ozzy worshiped him. He only tried to kill him after he heard Wes talking to Mickey and Sharon. Wes said he was leaving everything to his granddaughter. He was going to keep her set for the rest of her life. Which upset Ozzy because he thought he was going to inherit. He has ailing parents too. He has bills too. He didn’t think his hard work should pay for Skye’s rehab bills when she never worked at the farm.
Ozzy pulled a gun on Wes when he saw Mickey arrive with Bode. He didn’t want to go to prison. He accidentally set off a fire at the farm and there were a lot of flammable material around. Mickey called for help. She then worked with Bode to save her father’s life. Bode had gotten her thinking. He lost a lot of time with his grandfather because he was in prison. He didn’t want the same for Skye. He would know. He’s been in Skye’s shoes. She deserved to get to know her grandfather while she still can. He had Mickey second-guessing her choices she made for Skye.
Mickey and Bode were able to rescue Wes. Ozzy got away. Ozzy was heading towards the bank. He knew that Wes had millions of dollars buried in a shallow grave up the mountain and he wanted it for himself. But the fire he started had spread. It spread throughout the mountain. Vince warned Mickey not to go up there. She told him she had to stop a potential murderer. Bode knew where the bank was only Vince sent Jake with Mickey. Jake had overheard Vince telling Bode that he was the future of the firehouse. And Jake wondered about his own future.
If Vince wanted to hand things over to Bode, what would happen to Jake? Jake was feeling left out and Vince knew that so he told Jake to go with Mickey. Even though Bode would have been a better choice. Mickey and Jake found Ozzy at the bank. They later found themselves surrounded by fire because it was spreading through the forest quickly. The airplanes doing a water dump was the only thing that saved them from dying.
Mickey later visited her father at the hospital. She asked him if they can have a relationship. Wes knew that would only be possible if he changed and he couldn’t do that. Not for her. He turned her down. He said he was too old for change.
Sharon meanwhile got Oxalta to pay for the chemical spill. Jake’s new girlfriend helped them. Violet worked for Oxalta and that helped her to know their weakest points. The company agreed to clean Three Rock’s water supply. And Manny got early released for his pain and suffering.
Bode was the only one upset because he thought Oxalta was a bigger crook than Wes. It wasn’t fair he had to return money to Wes and Oxalta gets to poison another town. Bode also blamed this on Sharon for making a deal with them.
