General Hospital Monday, January 6 Recap: Brennan Gets Dex-Stabbing Video, Penthouse Explosion, Sidwell Buys Wyndemere

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, January 6 indicates an explosive start to the week. The soap opened up with Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) at Wyndemere, tiding up the place. She gets a knock on the door and welcomes Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) to his new home.

Lucy walks Sidwell around the place, as he lays on the charm, thick. Fans could sense a certain spark erupting between the two, but if Lucy only knew about his criminal activity, would she be this friendly?

Regardless, Lucy offers to introduce Sidwell to Port Charles’ ‘elite’ and talks about how she can help him get more acquainted with the big players in the city from Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) to Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison), and the rest of the Q family.

The two chat over champagne and walk over to the outdoor back terrace where she points out some of the town’s sights that can be seen from Wyndemere.

After some cordial goodbyes, Lucy exits, and Sidwell does a little dancing back to the terrace in his new home, while he stares outside, sipping the rest of his champagne with a grin on his face.

Over at the hospital, Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) confronts Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) about Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) suspension.

He’s outraged at what’s happened and how the hospital is blaming the Head Nurse for the digitalis overdose of both Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Dex Heller (Evan Hofer).

Still, Portia makes it clear that she just wants to get to the bottom of things through this investigation and implies that she doesn’t necessarily believe Elizabeth is the one to blame.

Down the corridor of GH near the nurse’s station, Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) introduces himself to Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson).

Cyrus gets the feeling that Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) has tainted the doctor’s view of him.

As Isaiah questions if Jordan is wrong, and Cyrus tries to assure him that he is a changed man, Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) interrupts the two and lashes out at Cyrus.

He reminds him of how he attempted to murder his best friend Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and all the other atrocities that Cyrus was once responsible for.

Brad got pretty loud and in Cyrus’ face, so much so, that Lucas and Portia, who were walking by, had to shut the confrontation down.

Lucas took Brad to another part of the hospital to calm him down. Brad relented he was a hypocrite, as he’s done terrible things and has changed, looking for a second chance from people.

Lucas offered some nice words to his ex, stating that there is no comparison between him and Cyrus, as Brad was a man who made horrible decisions, while Cyrus was a former drug dealer responsible for many ODs and deaths.

Meanwhile, Portia is back near the nurse’s station with Cyrus when she decides to ban him from the hospital, effective immediately.

While Cyrus tries to reason with her about his volunteering, she shuts him down quickly, stating that he makes too many employees in the hospital feel uncomfortable.

Portia walks Cyrus to the elevator making it clear he’s no longer welcome at GH.

As the elevator closes, Cyrus has a very creepy look on his face, so it’ll be interesting to see what he does next.

Across town, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) can be found in Dex’s apartment, cleaning things up and filling boxes. She sees photos of him and her and has a flashback.

Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) shows up, and Joss talks about how much she’s going to miss Dex. Still, Joss relents the only way she’ll be able to get over things is if she finds out who was behind her boyfriend’s stabbing and that the attacker gets the justice they deserve.

Joss notes that she needs to seek answers, as the PCPD has 100 different cases and is busy, but Trina is not sure that this will help her with her grief process.

Joss mentions turning to Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure) for help and looking into seeing if the WSB had any surveillance video from the day, but he claimed this footage was deleted.

As Trina left and Joss finished cleaning up, she found a gun in one of Dex’s drawers.

Speaking of Brennan, GH’s Monday episode shows him behind his desk in his office, as he tells someone that finding the December 10 footage should be their top priority.

Colette Moreau (Mercedes Lopez Renard) enters, and Brennan immediately asks why she shot at Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) in Prague.

Colette notes that she got nervous the police would get involved when she saw Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) enter the café, and it was a damage control thing.

She questioned why Brennan was so protective of Valentin as he was such a liability to the WSB, and Brennan replied that she is not needed to supervise his actions.

As Colette confirmed that Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) was still with Valentin, Brennan believed that as Charlotte led them to Valentin once, she would do so again.

Later in his office, Brennan received an email with the footage of Dex’s stabbing from December 10.

The video confirmed what many fans already sensed, and that is, Cyrus was the one to stab the newbie cop from behind.

Over to the Mayor’s Office, Laura Collins (Genie Francis) got a visit from her brother, as Martin Grey (Micheal E. Knight) swung by.

Laura updated him on Lulu Spencer’s (Alexa Havins Bruening) mission to Prague and how it failed to bring Charlotte home.

Martin tried to ease his sister’s concerns over her granddaughter and gently reminded her how much Valentin loves his daughter and how he’ll stop at nothing to protect her. He also assured her that if Charlotte reached out once, she’ll likely do so again.

Meanwhile, an enraged Carly enters Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) warehouse office in a rage.

Seems that Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) called his grandmother to let her know he was in Washington, D.C. to watch his Uncle Drew get sworn in.

Carly is livid that Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) has taken Michael’s son to watch the reason his parent’s marriage failed become governor; however, Jason tries to remind Carly to stay out of it and allow Michael to handle things.

Over in D.C., Willow storms into Drew’s suite, in an emotional panic.

Completely in tears, she’s just been served divorce papers that state Michael wants full custody of the kids with potential supervised visits.

She worries she’s going to lose her kids, as Michael is claiming in the paperwork that she is an unfit mother.

Drew reminds her that she has an excellent lawyer in Martin, whom she calls right away to talk about the papers she was served with.

Martin was calm on the phone with Willow and remained so even when he found out she had gone out of state with Wiley and without Michael’s permission.

Martin reassured Willow that everything would be okay; however, when he got off the phone, he worried about how this ‘D.C.’ move would affect her chances with custody.

Still, Martin eased Willow’s concern, but after she got off the phone, she began to worry about how this would affect Drew’s political career.

Still, Drew wasn’t overly worried about this, and didn’t care, as he proclaimed that he loved her – much to her shock.

Lastly, Michael went to visit his dad to update him on his current life situation.

He tells Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) that his marriage is over, and he’s suing for full custody of the kids, but only because he realizes how hard negotiations can be during the entire process and he’s hoping for 50/50 custody with Willow.

The two have a beautiful father-son talk, and Sonny assures him he’s doing the right thing.

As Carly and Jason part ways from warehouse, the blonde ends up at the Metro Court restaurant as she has reservations with her brother, Lucas.

Unfortunately, he has to cancel due to work, but Brennan walks up to her table in a “right place, right time” situation.

Meanwhile, Jason heads to Sonny’s penthouse and asks the mob boss to step in the hallway to chat about business.

Michael is left alone, when all of sudden he and fans can hear a ticking sound, and an explosion (the one viewers have seen leaked on social media) with flames bursting everywhere, comes right out of the blue.

The show closes with Jason and Sonny immediately running back in, as Jason holds the mob boss back, with Michael screaming for help.

General Hospital spoilers say fans will have to wait a day until the fallout of this explosion is shown, as the soap will be pre-empted on Tuesday, January 7.

It does look as if Sidwell could be behind all this, entering the land of Port Charles with a bang. But why? Fans will have to tune in to find out!
