General Hospital Monday, March 17 Recap: Sonny Holds Valentin at Gunpoint, Poisoned Carly Rushed to GH

General Hospital (GH) recap for Monday, March 17, reveals that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) held Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) at gunpoint while a poisoned Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) was rushed to GH. Here’s how Monday’s exciting episode went down!

At home, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) let Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) in and explained how receiving Emma Drake’s (Braedyn Bruner) book triggered her grief over losing Spencer Cassadine (last played by Nicholas Alexander Chavez).

After Trina told Kai about her complicated romance with Spencer and how he died saving her life, she apologized for dumping everything on him.

However, Kai wanted to know all of Trina and gave her a kiss along with a gift bag.

Once Kai left, Trina opened her last birthday present and smiled since it was a framed photo of her with Kai following their recent art project together.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) clearly had a plot in the works, so Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) was suspicious of what her grandmother was up to.

Brook Lynn, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) all wound up talking about how Tracy had her family’s best interests at heart while Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) was being vindictive.

Later, Brook Lynn told Chase that Gloria Cerullo (Ellen Travolta) had known about her pregnancy all this time, so she felt she should’ve been told about that.

Chase also learned Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) found out about the baby after Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) spilled to Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight).

That left Chase curious over Lois’ motives and whether she might be trying to locate Brook Lynn’s child.

Since Brook Lynn didn’t want to keep secrets that could damage their relationship, she decided to tell Chase the whole truth and admitted Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) was the father of the baby she gave up.

At Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) place, Martin was visiting with her when Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) showed up with a marshal who had a warrant for his arrest.

Martin learned he’d be extradited to California over alimony issues regarding one of his ex-wives.

Tracy eventually showed up and took credit for setting Martin’s current predicament in motion.

Despite Martin’s attempt to bargain with Tracy, she called for the marshal to arrest him.

In Jack Brennan’s (Chris McKenna) suite, Carly guzzled a glass of Champagne before Brennan got out of the shower.

Brennan was about to join Carly in drinking one when he realized the bottle’s label had been tampered with.

After Brennan smacked Carly’s glass out of her hand, she began feeling ill. Once Carly collapsed, Brennan called for help and told GH to prepare for a poisoning victim who’d need her stomach pumped.

Outside Brennan’s suite, Valentin waited and listened. After hearing Brennan crying out Carly’s name, Valentin ultimately took off.

At Sonny’s house, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) gave him updates on the Buenos Aires trip and everything that happened with Valentin.

Talk turned to the penthouse explosion, so Sonny once again speculated that Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) might be behind it before considering other options.

Since the incendiary device was typically used in the intelligence community, Sonny considered the possibility that someone from within that community wanted to take him out.

Brennan was a name Sonny discussed, but he figured Brennan wouldn’t have put Carly’s children at risk.

After Sonny pushed Sonny to speak with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and look after Sasha Gilmore Corbin (Sofia Mattsson), Jason headed back to the Quartermaine mansion.

That’s where Sasha approached Jason and insisted they needed to talk about the baby.

At the hospital, Brennan had an agent guard Carly’s room and got the lab to work on identifying the poison Carly ingested.

Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) thought Sonny should be brought in the loop, but Brennan shut that idea down and called this a matter of national security.

No one unauthorized was to go in or out of Carly’s room.

Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) wasn’t happy about Brennan barking orders, but he eventually turned his attention to treating Carly – though they needed to know exactly what she ingested to truly help her.

Back with Brennan, he gave Anna the news on Carly’s ordeal and got a phone call that confirmed Carly was poisoned with polonium.

At Sonny’s house again, Valentin broke in his former home to score some passports and whatever else he stashed there.

Once Sonny popped up nearby, he pulled a gun on Valentin and asked if he forgot something.
