General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that we have to ask an important question about the future of some former flames: Do Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) belong together?
On social media, GH fans are reacting after the exes’ emotional scenes in the March 19 episode.
Were those scenes proof that maybe Carly and Sonny are still meant to be?
Once Sonny got updates on Carly being admitted to the hospital, he immediately went running to her bedside.
Carly greeted Sonny with a sweet smile as he asked what she’d gotten herself into.
Later, Sonny got choked up as he reflected on how he never wanted to get a call like that again.
On the car ride over, Sonny admitted to wondering what the kids were going to do without Carly.
“And I start thinking to myself, what am I gonna do without you?” Sonny added before Carly took his hand and insisted he wouldn’t get rid of her that easily.
Of course, Carly and Sonny are always going to be connected through their history and children.
There’s a love between Sonny and Carly that’s never going away, but is that love meant to be platonic or something more?
Some fans appreciated the scenes as a poignant way to highlight Carly and Sonny’s forever bond.
You could argue that it was simply a reminder of that permanent connection and not necessarily a potential reunion setup.
However, other viewers interpreted those scenes differently and are now seeing the possibility for Sonny and Carly to get another romantic chapter.
These special Carly and Sonny moments certainly didn’t hurt their reunion chances if GH writers ever want to go there again.
Sonny and Carly have a knack for finding their way back to each other, so no one can rule out the idea of them reuniting at some point.
It’s clear that Sonny has far more powerful feelings for Carly than he has for Natalia Ramirez (Eva LaRue) or almost any other woman who might walk into his life.
Carly is with Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) for now, but there are plenty of ways the show could tear them apart.
Brennan obviously brings a new layer of danger to Carly’s world – not to mention he’s keeping some massive secrets regarding Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) that could ultimately turn Carly against him.
Once Carly inevitably ends up heartbroken, Sonny might become the person she turns to.
Whatever the case, many fans are now rooting for Carly to reunite with Sonny and making predictions about their happy ending.
