General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that most romances in the land of soaps start with conflict and eventually turn to love.
That’s why many fans have raised their eyebrows when it comes to the back-to-back scenes between Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Port Charles’ A.D.A., Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor), at the Nurses Ball.
During the Wednesday, May 21 episode, the mob boss and the assistant district attorney stumbled across each other and had a conversation.
Justine was quick to taunt Sonny stating that this might be her first Nurses Ball, but after the town referendum, it could be his last, as he’ll surely leave once he loses his piers.
Sonny quickly let it be known that no one could run him out of town.
Fast-forward to the Thursday, May 22 show, and as Sonny and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) were talking about how important the Nurses Ball was to them, because of Robin Scorpio-Drake (Kimberly McCullough) and Stone Cates (Michael Sutton).
Justine made a snide remark about how ‘close’ Sonny and Anna appeared, which is when the mob boss put her in her place by telling her they were chatting about the two people behind the reason for the Nurses Ball, and she should ‘look up’ Robin and Stone’s names.
With that said, GH viewers know that Justine isn’t overly fond of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) or Anna.
In fact, she accused Anna of using her position at the PCPD to protect Jason when ‘Stone Cold’ was accused of being behind Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) demise.
This is one of the reasons that Anna and Jason have purposely kept away from each other. As such, it isn’t overly shocking that the ADA wouldn’t be a fan of Sonny.
Still, will Justine see a different side to Sonny once she realizes the connection he had with Stone?
Will she look up his name – and Robin’s, and understand why Sonny and Anna have a bond? Could this trigger something more between the mob boss and A.D.A.?
Why all the scenes together if the soap wasn’t doing some sort of chemistry test between Sonny and Justine, right?
Sonny is single, and after he recently booted Natalia Ramirez (Eva LaRue) out of his life for lying about being Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) ex-wife, he now has zero prospects of romance on the horizon.
Plus, his on-again/off-again relationship with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) is far from being “on again” because of her romance with Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna).
