General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, January 23, reveals that Laura Collins (Genie Francis) had some bad news for Ava Jerome (Maura West) since she couldn’t serve as a character witness in the custody case. Despite Ava’s protests, Laura thought it was best if she didn’t get involved in Ava’s feud with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
Later, Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) showed Ava a potential new apartment, which she wasn’t impressed with.
Ric argued that it’d look better to the judge than living in a hotel and complained about Ava snapping at him.
Ava spilled about Laura backing out as her character witness and suspected Ric would bail on her if she couldn’t pay him enough.
However, Ric moved in close and made it clear that he was in Ava’s corner.
Once Ava and Ric kissed passionately, Ava got flustered as she pulled away. After Ava decided Ric was right about the apartment, she took off in a hurry.
Next on Thursday’s GH episode, Natalia Ramirez (Eva LaRue) left Sonny to talk with Brick (Stephen A. Smith) and wound up at Charlie’s Pub.
Natalia praised Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) for all the changes and offered updates on Sonny’s meeting with Brick.
Kristina was eager for Sonny to see what she’d done with the place and didn’t know what she’d do without her dad.
Back with Sonny, he filled Brick in on his heart situation, so Brick arranged for him to see the best cardiologist in the country out in Los Angeles.
Brick was adamant that they had to keep Sonny’s heart condition under wraps, especially when it came to the five families.
Sonny would have to use a cover story to explain his LA visit.
Natalia eventually returned to watch over Sonny for the night like she promised, so he was grateful for all her help.
Back at Charlie’s Pub, Jens Sidwell (Carlo Rota) enjoyed an evening out with Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) and mentioned wanting a meeting with Mayor Collins, so Lucy emailed Laura to arrange one.
Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) also found out Sidwell was strutting around town and relayed the news to Laura, who did some investigating and learned there were no criminal charges haunting Sidwell.
Laura received Lucy’s email about Sidwell wanting a meeting, so she got him on the phone and suggested they should do it in person tomorrow.
At Charlie’s Pub again, Lucy bragged about selling Wyndemere to Sidwell and mentioned that she just sold an apartment to Ava too, so things got awkward with Kristina.
At the PCPD, Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) approached Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) in his jail cell and said he wouldn’t face charges if he paid the damages at Charlie’s.
Cody gave Molly an attitude since he didn’t have the money.
Mac Scorpio (John J. York) later approached Cody and scolded him for being involved in yet another bar brawl.
Cody acted like he was done with drunken outbursts, but he still admitted he had a tendency to trash his own life like this.
Mac knew Cody had faced some struggles and pushed him to lean on his new family now.
Cody assured Mac that he would apologize to Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and Spinelli (Bradford Anderson), so Mac was glad to hear it.
Nevertheless, Mac thought it was best for Cody to sober up behind bars for the night, so he left him there to reflect.
In the PCPD interrogation room, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) patched up Lucky Spencer’s (Jonathan Jackson) minor injuries.
After Liz and Lucky got info from Felicia about the bell going silent during Dex Heller’s (Evan Hofer) stabbing, they resolved to go back to Turning Woods and do more Cyrus digging there.
In Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) kitchen, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) spoke with Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) about blasting Cyrus over Dex’s attack and tipping him off.
Lucas acted like it may not be a bad thing if it deterred Cyrus from claiming another victim.
Josslyn feared Cyrus would just be more careful next time and mulled over Lucas’ suspicions about Cyrus being behind the string of patient fatalities.
Lucas warned Josslyn to stay away from Cyrus mess and avoid all the danger.
Josslyn acted like there was nothing she could really do, but our predictions point to her sticking with her desire for vengeance!
General Hospital spoilers say Josslyn will get tangled up in some trouble soon, so stay tuned.
