General Hospital (GH) spoilers update on Wednesday, January 8 indicate that the soap will hit the ground running after being pre-empted on Tuesday, January 7, due to news coverage. The very last thing fans saw before the Monday, January 6 show closed was an explosion going off in Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) penthouse, and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) catching on fire.
Sonny and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) were in the hallway talking business when they heard the ‘boom’. GH viewers saw Sonny desperately trying to save his son, as Jason attempted to hold him back.
Based on GH’s Wednesday preview, it looks like the show will pick up where it left off, and added teasers seem to suggest that Jason will attempt to help/save Michael as he’s completely engulfed in flames.
It’s hard to say what will happen next; however, in an ideal world, it would be nice if Michael’s exit storyline was simply him going to a treatment center outside of Port Charles to recover.
Obviously, the worst-case scenario is Michael passing away or being presumed dead, so only time will tell how this storyline will play out.
Across town, GH spoilers for Wednesday’s episode suggest that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) will be asked to deliver some bad news, so it looks like poor Nina might have to tell Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) what’s happened to Michael.
Then again, perhaps no one knows about the penthouse explosion as of yet, and Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) reaches out to Nina on Wednesday’s show to advise her to keep Willow in check.
After all, Willow brought Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) to Washington, DC to watch Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) get sworn in, which was a terrible move when it comes to her child custody case with Michael.
Martin tried to play it cool while he was on the phone with Willow during Monday’s show, he may lay all his cards out with Nina, hoping that he’ll get through to her, so she can get through to Willow.
Over at the Quartermaine mansion, Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) will also have a personal conversation, and this likely will be baby talk, as Chase may update Sasha about the fact that he and Brook Lynn Quartermaine-Chase (Amanda Setton) are in the process of getting tested to ensure there are no issues in their trying to conceive journey.
Sasha will likely not share her own baby news, but fans should expect some interesting facial expressions from Sasha as she is expecting a baby herself and might feel bad that her friends are having problems.
Speaking of Brook Lynn, it sounds like she’ll have some news to share, so it’s quite possible that she and Chase have already had their fertility tests, and the results have arrived.
Then again, perhaps Brook Lynn has news about a doctor’s appointment, so fans will have to tune in to find out.
Finally, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) confesses something to Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) in confidence. What could this be about?
During GH’s weekly preview video, a scene is shown between Portia and Isaiah, as the transplant surgeon talks about someone in GH ‘killing’ patients, so could Portia have a sneaking suspicion that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) is the one injecting digitalis in IV, causing overdoses?
General Hospital spoilers say that Cyrus did not look at all pleased when Portia banned him from volunteering at the hospital and walked him to the elevator. So, could she become the newest victim on Cyrus’ hit list?
