General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) faced a real turning point in her life when she pulled the trigger on Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). That moment altered Josslyn’s world in a big way and certainly changed her perspective on her former stepfather, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
In an interview with SOD, Eden McCoy opened up about the twist that definitely got fans buzzing on social media.
Many viewers were stunned when Josslyn eliminated Cyrus, but McCoy had actually been sitting on the secret for months.
“I found out that Josslyn would be killing Cyrus at the same time I found out that [Joss’s love interest] Dex was getting killed off. So I’ve known for a really long time,” McCoy admitted.
Although losing Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) was a tough blow for Josslyn, that alone didn’t offer much of a challenge for McCoy since she’d already played the story of losing Oscar Nero Quartermaine (Garren Stitt).
That’s why McCoy enjoyed knowing where this whole Cyrus situation was going and playing a very different version of grief.
Josslyn wasn’t content to sit and wallow in her despair, so it fueled her into this action-driven plot instead.
McCoy confessed she was “super honored” that the show wrote her as the one to finally end Cyrus’ threat to Port Charles.
That said, it was hard for Eden McCoy to see Jeff Kober go since he was such a joy to work with.
However, Josslyn’s decision to take Cyrus out will continue to shape her world.
It’s already pulling Josslyn further into Jack Brennan’s (Chris McKenna) orbit with the cabin cleanup and all the WSB drama.
Josslyn’s bold move will also affect her view of Sonny moving forward.
McCoy insisted it changes Joss’ perspective on Sonny “one million percent” – and she’s glad since she was “so tired of the hypocrisy” for her character!
