In tonight’s Grey’s Anatomy episode, the Transplant Committee needed to be informed about Tasha’s state. Her true state. She wasn’t losing her memory because of liver failure. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and her wife faked her medical records so that she could get a new liver in spite of her diagnosis.

The doctors didn’t have a problem with someone with liver failure getting a new liver. They had a problem with all they did to ensure Tasha get a new liver. Catherine went to bat for Tasha with the Transplant Committee. She as well as the other doctors treating Tasha would have all gotten into trouble if they went ahead with the transplant surgery. Tasha’s wife knew that.

Evvyn was a doctor herself. She should never have faked her wife’s medical records. Nor should she have told her mentor and friend that her wife was denied a new liver because of racism.

She played dirty to get what she wanted. It can now cost her everything. The doctors had to go back to the committee. They had to give the full truth and Tasha could get denied again. It was just Nick that advocated for further testing. He reminded Meredith that Tasha was in her forties. She might have gotten misdiagnosed with dementia.

Sure, they were seeing more signs of dementia in younger people. It simply wasn’t enough to rule off Tasha. He said further tests would give them a better picture of the situation and naturally Meredith tried to make it about her. Meredith has a family history of the same disease.

She lost her mother who forgot her in the end. She knew she might develop the disease for herself one day. It’s why she was so desperately looking for a cure. It’s also why she thought this situation was hitting close to home for Nick and he had to tell her that not everything is about her.

Nick’s concern was Tasha. He sent for a neuro consultation. Amelia checked Tasha. She agreed with the original diagnosis that Tasha has Alzheimer’s. It posed a problem because the liver was still at play.

It could go to Tasha and she dies anyways within a few short years. It can go to another patient like say Bailey’s new patient Lisa and it will prolong her life. Lisa like Tasha was yellow from liver failure. Lisa like Tasha was confused about her surroundings. Giving the new liver to Lisa will help with the psychosis. It just wouldn’t heal Tasha’s dementia.

Bailey and her husband found out about the liver in play. Ben was supposed to be Bailey’s intern. He wasn’t supposed to be the talking intern and so Ben going before the Transplant Committee was all him.

He begged for Lisa to get the liver. He gave them medical facts about her case. The committee compared Lisa to Tasha. They ultimately realized that giving Tasha a new liver would not better her quality of life. They chose to give it to Lisa. Nick was upset when he found out. He couldn’t believe Meredith wouldn’t fight for Tasha.

Nick reminded Meredith that she made a career out of going rogue. Her following the rules now was completely unlike her. He refused to be the one to explain to Evynn that her wife was going to die.

He left that part for Meredith. Meredith later explained the committee’s decision to Evynn. It wasn’t enough because Evynn needed someone to blame and Meredith was an easy target. It also didn’t help that college kids were roaming all around the hospital. Washinton Union College has a scavenger hunt for the seniors. This year its medical products.

Owen was an alumni of the school. He didn’t mind the kids running around for clues. He actually helped a kid that took a metal IV pole into the MRI and injured his kidney when he got stuck to the machine.

The kid’s name is Cameron. Cameron was doing the hunt with his roommates – Andrea and Dev. Dev and Andrea were sleeping with each other. Dev doesn’t want a relationship. Andrea was also sleeping with someone named Dean. And Cameron was in love with Andrea and is willing to give her commitment.

It was a very complicated situation that happened right in front of Jules. Jule just had her heart broken. She was hating love and didn’t want to be a part of Cameron’s story. It was Owen and Winston that tried to get her to look on the happier side. Owen was friends with his wife for over twenty years before they finally got married.

They were now the proud parents of two kids. Owen told Cameron that the time will come and his story only made Cameron realized he didn’t want to wait twenty years to finally tell Andrea how he felt.

Cameron later told Andrea that he’s been in love with her since she first moved into the dorms. He then needed to be rushed into the OR to remove his spleen. Him needing surgery helped Jules feel better. She started making jokes. She also figured out the final clue in the hunt. Her fellow interns got in trouble.

Blue’s girlfriend has a seizure. Molly has had them since the accident that cost her everything. Including her memory. She doesn’t want another surgery to fix it. She was willing to accept new medication and that’s it.

Where Blue and Lucas got in trouble was that they tried to treat Molly on the side. Amelia found out about it. She took them to task and then she studied Molly’s case.

She was a firm believer that surgery could help Molly. It was just Molly that didn’t want it. She didn’t want to risk losing her memory again. No matter how much he loves her, Blue couldn’t take away that fear or convince her to go ahead with the surgery. She didn’t want to forget again because she didn’t want to forget him again.

Nick meanwhile figured out a way for both Lisa and Tasha to share a liver. He talked the others into giving Tasha two thirds of the liver and Lisa will get the third piece. Lisa’s situation wasn’t as dire at Tasha. Her smaller piece of the liver could serve as a bridge until her infection passes. Lisa will survive and so will Tasha.

Nick found a way to save both patients rather than just one. Also, Cameron’s team won the hunt and it made Owen feel better about coming in third. Owen didn’t know that Cass was visiting the hospital. Cass same woman that tried to kiss his wife. And after working together, Teddy was willing to admit to Owen that she is attracted to Cass.

And Andrea told Cameron that she wasn’t ready to settle down, but he was her best friend and she didn’t want to lose him.

THE END!
