The body of US Naval Petty Officer Rueben Daniels was found at the beach. There was a rave nearby. Some of the partygoers spilled out onto the beach. It was one of them that found the body. The victim was quickly identified. He still had his naval ID on him and so his case was handed over to NCIS to investigate. There was just one issue. The beach wasn’t the crime scene. Rueben didn’t die on that beach. He died elsewhere and was in fact frozen for an undetermined amount of days before being dumped on that beach.

It was quite a big risk to haul a body around. Also, the victim didn’t smell like he had been frozen. He smelled like he had been on the beach the whole time. He reeked of fish. Blue determined that he actually was covered in a certain sea creature’s semen. It wasn’t something just lying around. NCIS later asked Rueben’s friend and roommate about it. He claimed he didn’t know what Rueben was up to. Or that Rueben was missing. It was odd that he referred himself as Rueben’s best friend and so he requires further investigation, but NCIS had another lead to pursue.

Rueben still had his phone when he was found. He had a picture of a girl on his phone. The girl was identified as Kim Dang. She came on a student visa and it was a scam. The language school was faking student attendance. The students were in fact strippers at this one joint. It was called Rezzy’s. Once the authorities had proof about the scam, the school administrator was arrested. The girls were tracked down. They all claimed they were working legally for Rezzy’s. This included Kim. NCIS tried to talk to her and she wouldn’t say anything as long as her boss remained her shadow.

Rezzy wouldn’t allow any of the girls to talk to NCIS without her.

There was also the semen on the victim. It belonged to abalone. It was considered a delicacy in Australia. It was a great side business. Evie knew which shady businessman would most likely being sell it and they later questioned him. There was apparently a shipment of abalone that got stolen. It was stolen by Rueben’s roommate, Craig. Craig needed the money. He claimed he was dating Kim. They were doing their best to hide it from Kim’s boss at the strip club because the place was a lot more nefarious than they let on earlier.

Kim wasn’t allowed to leave or quit. She couldn’t date. Craig had to pretend to be a customer just to see her. The only way Craig could get Kim out of that business was to buy her debt. There was a lot of immigrant women that got tricked into coming into a country and then be told that they incurred a debt. Debt from their transportation as well as documentation. Most times their passports gets taken so that these women couldn’t go back home. They had to pay off the debt by being trafficked by their new pimps.

The strip club wasn’t just a strip club. The women were being sold as sex slaves. DeShawn and Evie were sent in undercover at the strip club. DeShawn got a private dance from Kim. He questioned her about Craig. She told him that Craig was trying to help. Kim knew it was a scam when she signed up for the language school. She joined because she was looking for her sister. Her sister disappeared. The trafficking ring gets the girls to dance until their visas runs out and then those girls disappear. They don’t go back to Vietnam. They don’t use credit cards or cell phones. They just disappear into thin air.

Craig didn’t want that to happen to Kim. It’s why he enlisted Rueben into stealing the abalone. They stole it from the strip club. Rezzy’s trade the girls without vias for abalone. Kim told Craig. Craig got his friend to help him steal the abalone shipment and they were going to use that to get Kim’s sister back. Only the traffickers found out who stole their shipment. They beat Rueben to death. They made Craig watch. It was supposed to keep Craig quiet and it worked for a while. He wouldn’t even tell NCIS about it.

It wasn’t until NCIS freed Kim from the strip club that Craig talked. He told them which bouncers from the strip club killed his friend. Craig helped trapped them. He would have done more if Kim hadn’t talked him out of it. Thanks to him and Kim, the strip club was shut down. They questioned the men and they found out where Ahn was taken to. They later found Ahn and the other girls. They were alive. They were now safe. Ahn was reunited with her sister. And so Rueben’s death wasn’t for nothing.

Rueben was a good guy. He helped rescue many when he chose to help his friend. That fact alone will comfort his family when they get notified of his death. But there was so happier news. It was Blue’s birthday. Her official birthday that is. Blue doesn’t actually know when she was born. She faked a date when she joined APD. The only one that knows about it was Doc. Doc promised to keep her secret. He also told her she should still celebrate her birthday. She was surrounded by people that care about her and they want to celebrate her.

Blue let her friends throw her a party. She had a great time with them. They all danced and that was a big commitment for some of them because Mackey once claimed the boss doesn’t dance.
