In tonight’s S.W.A.T. episode, Officer Gamble received some info from her father. Her father was currently serving a life sentence. Gamble shouldn’t even have been in contact with him because she was a cop and he was a cop killer, but his intel was important.

He kept reaching out to his daughter until she finally agreed to talk to him. Gamble visited him in prison. She heard him out and she’ll never regret that because his info was big. Her dad told her that someone put out a bounty on a SWAT officer. He didn’t which one or how much. He just knew that it was big.

Gamble then reported what she heard to Commander Hicks. Hicks was about call everyone in when Hondo saved him the trouble. Hondo said some kid just tried to kill him for the reward money. It was a million dollars hit on Hondo. The kid that tried to collect was dumb. He had no clue how to handle a police officer.

Hondo quickly took him down. He arrested him and Hondo was transporting him to SWAT headquarters when some motorcyclists tried to take Hondo out on the road. He barely survived. And the dumb kid from earlier escaped in the chaos.

Hondo was away from home. He wasn’t near headquarters. He was now stuck on foot and, while he’ll never say the words, he was in the ghetto. There were plenty of local gangbangers that saw him. They had weapons.

Hondo just had the one gun. He knew he couldn’t fight them all off. He ran because that was his one chance of survival. He didn’t even have his phone. He lost it in the crash. His people still figured out he was in trouble when Hondo didn’t show up at the office. They were afraid he’d been hurt and so they went looking for him.

They saw where his phone was. They saw that he was lost deep in gang territory. Hicks deployed everyone to help with the search. They looked everywhere for Hondo. They even targeted the gang’s bigwigs to see if they saw him. It turns out the older and wiser heads knew it would be stupid to take out one of LA’s most recognizable cops.

Hondo faces danger from the young ones. The ones that wanted the recognition even if it does come with a life sentence. Hondo was running from these kids until he gabbed one of their cell phones and called Hicks.

The calls helped them pinpoint his location. They came in at just the right time because Hondo was about to get shot. The team took down the shooter. They got backup to help clear the way for Hondo. He went back to HQ. He didn’t have to worry about his family. Nichelle and Vivi were visiting Nichelle’s parents.

hey were on the other side of the country. It was just Hondo that was in danger. Hondo and SWAT took down some scary dudes. Everyone believed that one of those people were out for revenge.

SWAT looked into them. The ones that were still alive had moved on. They got regular jobs and stayed out of trouble. Gamble questioned their theory that someone with experience put this hit out. She wondered what if an up and comer came up with the idea of the hit.

That way when they do it, everyone would know their name. Both theories were right in their own way. The family of a heavy shot caller was involved. Hondo arrested Malik Riles back when he was a kid. He should have gotten a light sentence at juvie. He instead got a tough judge.

The judge wanted to make an example out of him. He tried Malik as an adult. Malik then went to prison and stayed there for ten years. He was eventually killed by his cellmate. His brother Ameer blamed Hondo for his brother’s death. Ameer heard that Hondo was hiding at HQ. He called their office.

He told them that he was going to kill every cop he saw if Hondo didn’t come out of hiding. Ameer wasn’t just making empty threats. He went onto fire at cops. Forcing them to take shelter. Hondo couldn’t live with himself if he put other people in danger.

Hondo left HQ. He planned on tracking Ameer down himself, but his people knew him. They knew he was going to do something stupid and so they refused to let him face this threat by himself. They reminded him that they were a family. Hondo and 20 David went to the movie theater that Ameer’s parents used to own.

Ameer has since turned it into a drug den. He was dealing fentanyl pills. The theater was also where Hondo arrested Malik. It makes sense that their story will come full circle. Malik had apparently bragged that one day when he gets out of jail that he was going to hunt down Hondo. Then he died.

Ameer was trying to finish what his brother started. He also wanted to make more of a name for himself. Only he underestimated SWAT. They showed up. They took out his men. They put a stop to drug business and Hondo personally arrested Ameer. SWAT had also found that dumb kid from earlier. His name is Trae Williams.

He’s been living at shelters with his mom. He was desperate for money and Hondo didn’t think he deserved jail time for that. He worked out a deal for Trae. Trae was going to go work with Hondo’s friend, Leroy. Leroy could help give him a future. And a paycheck.

Also, Tan took some advice from Deac. Deac used to run SWAT Academy. Tan runs it now. Deac heard that Tan cut half the class at the start and he reminded Tan that he was there to help them be their best self. Its one thing to cut people that weren’t good cops, but it was also good to inspire them to better than they were.

THE END!
