In tonight’s Sister Wives episode, Janelle loved Flagstaff. She didn’t mind moving there. She loved the smalltown feel. She loved that the mountains were right there.
They were forever in view and the town had so much to offer. There was hiking, fishing, and climbing all there. It was a really great area.
Only Janelle needed a fresh start. She needed her own place and it had to be far away from Kody. Kody was a nuisance at this point for her. She couldn’t stand to be around him. She bought land in North Carolina and she was finally going to live her dream.
The same dream that Kody tried to crush. He always knew Janelle wanted her own garden. She wanted enough property to grow flowers and he never provided that for her. He never allowed her to have this one thing that he would easily have given Robyn if she’d been the one asking.
Kody was that guy. Janelle knew that about him and so she felt she didn’t know owe him any answers. She left Flagstaff without ever mentioning it to Kody. He didn’t know she was moving or that she bought a flower farm in North Carolina until one of their kids slipped up.
Kody now gets his information about his ex-wives from his children. He had no clue before then that Janelle was moving away. She didn’t feel like she owned him anything and so he’s essentially cut out of her life. They don’t talk. It was actually weird that Kody was surprised by Janelle’s move. He claimed he thought they were still friendly.
He failed to notice they stopped being friends when he dragged out the divorce and refused to give her any information about the financials. Or what her cut will be from the family fund.
Anyways, not everyone was going with Janelle. She still had a few kids staying in Flagstaff. The kids made a home there and they feel comfortable there. Robyn’s kids also love Flagstaff.
Her eldest daughter was considering getting baptized. She’s been going to a local church. She started to feel closer to God and she felt that a baptism would deepen her faith. She told her parents about it. They weren’t all that enthusiastic about it. They knew that her getting baptized now would be her getting baptized into that faith. That church.
Aurora doesn’t see it that way. She didn’t connect the baptism into baptizing into that church, but that’s what it means. Even catholic baptisms are considering baptizing into that faith. She would have to get baptized again if she changed faith. Auroa wanting to baptize into her church also showed her leaving behind their Mormonism. She then went for doubles when she asked Kody if he’d join the pastor in baptizing her. Kody has been her father for a long time now. She doesn’t talk about her bio dad anymore. Kody was her father now. And so Auroa wants to include Kody in her faith.
Kody loved her enough to agree to it even as he remained unsure about her church. Aurora has been going to that church with her middle sister. Robyn knew they were going, but she didn’t see how deeply involved they were becoming. The parents don’t know what the church’s stance on polygamy is.
Kody is a monogamist now. Only he might change his mind again and return to polygamy. The family couldn’t quite close that door. Kody once thought he was happy with his three other wives until he met Robyn. There might be another Robyn out there to his current Robyn.
Meri for one was interested in dating. She’s gone on a few dates. She didn’t see a future with them and quickly moved on. Meri also has her family house to consider.
She’s been using her family home as a B&B. Her mom used to run it for her. Then her mother passed. Meri now has to decide what to do with a family home and, as she’s thinking it through, she’s hoping to find someone who will help her decide what to do next. There could be a great guy out there who would love her family home. And would like to move in.
Meri was hoping to find a guy like that. Someone who makes her world full of joy as well as provide clarity. She didn’t really get that last one from Kody. Even now he drags his feet on paying out to his ex-wives. Janelle sold her home in Las Vegas and the proceeds of that went into Robyn’s new home.
It didn’t go into Janelle’s next home. Kody also tried to get Janelle to buy Christine a home. He was supposed to be in charge of the family finances, and it looks like he’s been winging it this whole time. He has no head for business. Or finances. It’s why Janelle used to act as his unofficial bookkeeper.
Kody is lost without Janelle. This could be why he didn’t want to divorce her. Kody didn’t try to hold onto his marriages with Christine or Meri. He only fought for Janelle. Janelle was the unpaid labor that kept the family going, but Janelle was happy now that she’s gone. She went on a road trip.
She went into a bar and ordered a drink. She hasn’t done that in nearly thirty years. Christine had to talk her through it. Christine and her new husband helped Janelle transport her stuff to North Carolina. And while they were there, Janelle left behind the necklace that Kody gave her.
She left the necklace in the Plotz Plot. It was a special place for travelers. Janelle left behind the last part of her marriage to Kody and now Christine was taking her out to drink at a bar. She also told Janelle the best way to get over an ex was to get underneath a new guy.
But Janelle and Meri aren’t the type to quickly sleep with someone else.
THE END!
