In tonight’s Sister Wives episode, Janelle retained a lawyer tonight. She’s discussed it in the past. She wanted to make sure she was protected in her divorce from Kody and she only agreed to finally getting a lawyer tonight when Kody gave her the runaround. Kody keeps telling her that he has everything handled.
He mentioned he’s talking to the right people about what to do with the family party. However, nothing seems to come from these conversations. Kody was still benefiting from the family fund while his ex-wives get nothing. Christine was fine with nothing because she couldn’t wait to leave him. Meri and Janelle were different. They’ve paid into the family fund and now they just want what they’re owed.
Meri even got a lawyer as well. Both she and Janelle know that Kody is feeding them lies. He’s now claiming he was going to sell the property and he seemed like he hired the realtor just so that he could rant about his ex-wives. Kody told that poor man everything while he was checking out the property.
Kody went through the full thirty year history of how he was stuck with three women he didn’t love. The realtor probably wanted to escape and he couldn’t because it was a large property. Selling it would have given him a great commission.
That’s Kody for you. He keeps people attached with these little rays of hope. He said he was selling the property and all the while he’s also saying their share of the property wasn’t much. Kody split up the property on who has the most children. Robyn was getting the greatest share because of course she was.
She has the youngest kids. She also was the favorite. Kody was meanwhile trying to give Meri less than a fourth of the property she helped pay for because she just has the one child. It’s like he was telling her she didn’t matter because of just the one child.
Meri has had jobs. She owns her own business. She has always put money into the family fund. The same fund that didn’t pay for her child’s college degree or his first car.
Meri was constantly told she was less important than the other wives. It’s no wonder why she went looking for affection on the internet. She’s accepted disrespect for far too long. She thought she had to put up with it because of her background. She came from a polygamist family. She married Kody knowing they’d be a polygamist family. And she didn’t see a way out.
Meri thought she had to put up with everything because “marriage was for life”. She agreed to legally divorce him because she thought she was helping the family. She now looks back on that matter differently since Kody showed his true colors.
He showed that he always planned on pushing her out of the family. Now Kody was telling his ex-wives that he has plans for the property. He thought they were still dumb enough to be in love with him and fall for everything he says. Those days are over. They know he can’t be trusted now.
What will he do with the property? Kody put his name on each portion of the property. He’s given Robyn twice the shares of the other wives and is outright refusing to discuss his plans with anyone other than Robyn.
He built picnic tables with Robyn. They took the tables out on the property. They had a picnic with that great view of the mountains. They were going back and forth on selling the place because they do care about it. Kody said that was the last place his whole family was happy together.
He failed to see how much his ex-wives want to get rid of it. Christine has now started a business. She was going to rent out homes in Utah and she bought her first rental with her new husband. Some of her kids were still confused about how they should treat David. David and Christine’s relationship happened really fast.
They were still getting to know him and the one thing that was prominent was that he was nothing like Kody. David was playful. He was fun. He didn’t mind making fun of himself. He helped Christine be confident in herself.
Back when she was married to Kody, Christine thought she should stay a mother. She didn’t want her own business. She didn’t want to help with the family business or deal with the pressure from Kody.
She chose to focus on the kids because it helped her hide in the background. She said it wasn’t until Ysabel’s surgery that she realized how independent she was. She saw that she could do things without Kody. Then she started to see she lives an entire life away from Kody because he barely shows. And he couldn’t even be there for his daughter’s surgery.
What’s the point of a man who can’t be there for the sad moments. Or the weak moments. Or just the moments where their wife was feeling alone and needed a hug. Kody stopped being a husband to three of his four wives a long time ago and now he was just down to one. He has Robyn. She is his priority. He discussed what to do with the property with Robyn.
They needed capital. Kody wants to sell three plots and keeps the fourth one for his family with Robyn. He often goes on Coyote Pass with Robyn and their family. They’ve built fond memories there.
Only the ex-wives needed him to make a decision. Sell the property or buy them out!
THE END!
