In tonight’s The Masked Singer episode, the gang’s back for an all new season. Rita Ora returned once again with Robin, Jenny, and Ken. They opened tonight season premiere with a rendition of “Get Lucky”. Previous season winners even joined them onstage. It was a great way to start the night and it was up to Team A to maintain the talent.
Up first was Honey Pot. He was known to stir the pot. He’d do anything for a laugh. His buzz words were Honey, Funny, and Money. He was a comedian. He said he was one of the founding fathers of comedy. He mentioned he opened his own show. And there was a surprisingly a wig in his clue package.
The Honey Pot performed “Sexyback”. It was clear he wasn’t much of a singer. Or dancer. He still brought a great energy to the stage and, while he says he catches more flies with honey than vinegar, it didn’t stop him for taking a shot at Ken the comedian. There were some that thought he was Steve Harvey. Others that thought he was Cedric the Entertainer. Rita’s pick was by far the most out of field with her choice of Keegan-Michael Kay. He was tall like the Honey Pot. He was also on the hefty side and that could never be said of Keegan.
The next Group A Challenger was Ant. The Ant was a woman. The thing about ants are that they’re small and mighty. They often carry a lot of weight. Ant did the same. She had a secret. There were powerful people that tried to destroy her using that secret. She’s had to fight back to reclaim her place in the world and now she won’t let anyone tear her down. The Ant performed “Just Give Me A Reason”. She has a great voice. Her performance was greater than the Honey Pot. It also didn’t hurt that her costume looked great.
Rita heard Lea Michele in her voice. Robin heard Lindsay Lohan. Jenny heard Ashante. All of these women have been through a very public battle in the media. They’ve all suffered heartbreak. They also were in better places now and everyone wanted to root for them. It would be great if the Ant was any one of those women. Next up was the Paparazzo. The Paparazzo was a man. The lens have been pointed in his direction his whole life. He was a child star. He took a celebrity as his date to prom. The one thing he’s never done was perform on stage.
Paparazzo has a great voice. He performed “The Door” tonight. He impressed the judges and they all loved the way he set the stage. The judges all thought he was an actor. Rita thought he was Taron Egerton. Robin thought he was Joseph Gordon-Levitt. There was a dog in the clue package and Joseph’s first movie was with a dog. Ken thought he was Kieran Culkin. He spotted a “Father of the Bride” clue in the package. The next Group A Challenger was Fuzzy Peas. Fuzzy Peas was a man. He was the third generation in his field.
They all fought for what they believe in. His mom’s passion was music. Fuzzy Peas fulfilled her dream by winning Grammys and even a Golden Globe. He was also has some Latin American in him. He performed in Spanish tonight to “La Bamba”. His peas also had a Spanish touch to it. He made the peas look like a mariachi band. He gave a stellar performance and it left everyone with questions. The guesses for him were all of Latin actors. Rita thought he was Mario Lopez. Jenny thought that was the wrong Lopez.
Jenny thought the Fuzzy Pease was George Lopez. Robin disagreed because he thought he was John Leguizamo. They were all good guesses. Nex up was Coral. The Coral was a woman. Corals are strong and resilient. She’s also a singer. She performed “Mad World” tonight. It was so hauntingly beautiful. She was very talented. The Coral admitted in his clue package that she tried to break into the music field for years. It was just when she was about to give up that she finally caught her break. She had a hit. It launched her career and now she was a star.
Ken was forever a goofball. He saw the model house in the clue package. It made him believe the Coral was Sabrina Carpenter. Robin wasn’t sure who she was. He thought Bebe Rexha at the start and then he thought it was Carly Rae Jepsen when he heard her sing. Coral was the last performer of the night. The audience voted and tonight it was the Honeypot that was unveiled. Two of the judges believed he was Cedric the Entertainer. One thought he was Eddie Murphy. One thought he was Martin Lawrence. And in the end he was revealed to be Cedric the Entertainer.
Both Ken and Jenny got those points. Ken has met Cedric in person. Cedric helped him launch his career and so that’s why he was able to spot Cedric’s voice in spite of him trying to hide it.
THE END!
