In tonight’s The Rookie episode, the documentary crew were back. They were making a film about the disappearance of Abigail Tierney. Officer John Nolan knew her personally. She was once engaged to his son. They met at college and got engaged really fast. Nolan was against the engagement.

Abigail won him over. She was smart. She had grit. She initially wanted to be a cop as well. Nolan agreed to let her to do a ride along. It didn’t go well because she broke up a domestic dispute by kicking the guy in the crotch. Nolan wasn’t upset with her. He was just glad that she didn’t become a cop. He was also glad that the engagement didn’t pan out.

Nolan was glad because he thought they were too young. He got married young himself. He got divorced too. It was mercifully amicable. They agreed to remain friends because they loved their son.

They didn’t want him to be harmed in any way. Nolan doesn’t regret his son. He just wishes he had him later in life when he was more prepared. He wanted to be settled in life and that’s why it didn’t work with ex-wife. Only it was working with Bailey. Bailey came into his life at the right time. He knew what he wanted and they were happy together.

Anyways, Nolan lost contact with Abigail after the engagement fell through. She and Henry remained friends. It wasn’t a bad breakup. They simply grew up and grew apart. She didn’t pursue the cop thing.

She instead went into acting. She even tried to produce a movie of her own that she starred in. The movie ultimately didn’t work out because there were several issues. She kept rewriting the script. She kept doing extra scenes. She lost funding and that’s when she got a new idea for a new film.

Thanks to Detective Angela Lopez. She had acted as Abigail’s cop supervisor for the film that never was. The job was really boring. The detective got to talking to Abigail about her cases.

She might have mentioned the two serial killers and that a psych ward was involved. Abigail then got the bright idea to make a documentary of her own about the same psych ward. The psych ward was now abandoned. It spawned two serial killers. There was also a third guy contacted to that same place that Liam Glasser tried to use as a patsy.

Abigail thought she could make it big with this new documentary. People love true crime. Abigail wanted to play into that. She abandoned her project.

She ghosted pretty much everyone while she tried to get things right with her new project, but again she did not have funding. She also couldn’t seek additional funding for the new film because she kinda burned some bridges and so she had to go low budget. She used a new friend to help film the videos. The new friend was Carl Ditweiler. He became obsessed with her.

When Abigail was reported missing, The cops didn’t take it seriously. They assumed she’d come back. It also didn’t help that Abigail ghosted everyone and so it was a while before people actually looked for her. They noticed that she was in contact with Carl before she went dark. The cops went to go talk to him about Abigal and he denied ever knowing her. He also tried running. He was arrested. They found a wall full of photos of Abigail. Carl was truly obsessed with her and she played into that by flirting with him.

Abigail needed a cameraman. Carl also used to work at the Westview Psychiatric Hospital. He was a source. He knew the building and so Abigail flirted to get what she wanted from him.

He walked her through the building. He helped with her spy cam as she interviewed people from the hospital. Rachel actually worked there. She needed a job to get through grad school. She quickly left when the patients came in and were constantly getting worse. Not better. Its why the hospital was considered haunted now.

Abigail was doing a video at the hospital when she heard something. Carl didn’t hear it. Abigail wandered off to follow the sound and Carl lost track of her. That’s when she truly disappeared. This new documentary crew had used Carl’s video. They enhanced the background noise. There was a voice.

It sounded demonic. Glasser was interviewed. He even believed there was a dark presence at that place. The cops investigated it. There was one patient that was a nanny for Charlotte Russell. She’s the preteen that tried to kill one of her friends with another friend.

The nanny has never been in trouble. She did on the other hand believe the hospital was haunted. She said she was fine when she was first committed and that she felt a dark presence.

She tried to fight it. It only made it worse. She gave into it and it helped her get well again. She left the hospital. She got her degree. She became a nanny. She seemed to be functioning and so the cops tested her theory. They went back to the hospital. They spent hours searching the place.

They ran into the Ghost Files crew there. They were a YouTube channel that investigated ghost stories. One was a skeptic and the other a believer. They were with Nolan and Celina when they heard a noise. They followed it. It was coming from behind a wall. Nolan tore that wall down. He found Abigail. She was alive.

She survived two weeks in that secret lab thanks to the bunch of trail mix she had. She also ate Bob’s protein bars. Bob was the dead guy in there with her. He’s been dead for six months.

Abigail was a little out of it. She drank the hospital’s water supply nearby. It had been drugged. She thought Bob was still alive and needed urgent medical care. The same for Tim and Lucy.

They were all drugged by the same thing. It didn’t last. Abigail was back to making her documentary. She even cut in when the other documentary crew was interviewing Nolan. Abigail said she was going to tell her own story. She was almost killed for it by Carl only she stopped him going through with it by talking to him.

Carl had been hired to kill her by his boss. Director Meg Davison. Davison found out the hospital was originally used for human experimentation. It was for the MK-Ultra program ran by the CIA.

They used highly mind altering drugs on people. It was also known as truth serum. The program got shut down. It was turned into a psych hospital. The man that ran it tried to experiment on himself. He went crazy. He also ditched a bunch of the stuff right outside. It seeped into the building. And onto the walls.

It’s how the cops got drugged. Well, Davidson was Erickson’s therapist. She found out about the drugs and realized how she could profit. She took in wealthy patients.

She made them sick so that they could enter a conservatorship. Like Brittany Spears’s situation. Davidson was stealing money from this people so she kept them sick. The nanny that they spoke to earlier was also wealthy. Her brother drugged her to the point of a break so that her father wrote her out of the will. And he inherited millions.

Davidson was evil. Bob the private investigator was looking into it when she killed him. She tried to kill Abigail for finding him. And Abigal helped take her down.

She was going to make a great documentary from this, but Abigail’s lead on Davidson came from Bob. He somehow told her who hired him. The ghost hunting crew also fled the hospital after hearing noises there.

The place was haunted and hopefully it won’t help Glasser at trial.

THE END!
