In tonight’s The Voice episode, it was Night 3 of the Blind Auditions! Michael was coming off of a win last season. Adam was back after several years away and was a little rusty. Kelsea was still new to the game, but John was as legendary as the name. They all were looking for the best tonight.

Up first was Divighn. He performed “I Got You (Feel Good)”. He put on a stellar performance and two of the judges turned for him. Kelsea turned first. She saw potential before anyone else did. Michael only turned towards the end of the performance. He dilly dallied.

Both were great coaches. Divighn could fit with either team. He was the youngest of nine. He knows how to share and he doesn’t have to travel far to put in the practice. He was originally from California. He also came experienced. He was thirty-three. He came hungry for the opportunity. He ultimately chose Michael because Michael shared his love of old songs. They were Classic over Pop. Kelsea might have understood him. She just wouldn’t know how to help him put the stank on it. And that’s something John suggested for Divighn.

Up next was Jacquelyn George. She was twenty-seven. She was from Tennessee. She grew up around a different kinds of music. Her father was a Jazz performer. Her mother performed Opera. Jacquelyn started performing with her brother as kids and tonight was one of the rare times she performed solo. It was a little daunting for her. She was used to the comfort of her brother’s support. Which she still has. He was there backstage tonight. He just wasn’t performing with her tonight and Jacquelyn had to show she could stand on her own.

She performed one of the most ambitious songs ever. She chose Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing”. John turned for her instantly. Adam waited on the last line to do so. The others called him “Last Minute Levine”. Only he had no chance against John. Jacquelyn performed one of John’s songs at her wedding. John heard that and he suggested performing together tonight. They sang a little bit of “Ordinary People” together. That was all Jacquelyn needed to choose John. Adam had zero chance. He realized that for himself towards the end.

Up next was Tinika Wyatt. She was another one from California. She was also one of the oldest performers of the night. She was fifty. She looks great and she sounds even better. She was a married mother of four. She shared pastor duties at her church with her husband. She also got her Masters in Marriage Counseling to better help her church followers. Tonight however wasn’t a smoother ride for her. The audience loved her performance. The judges not so much. She performed “Sorry Not Sorry” and none turned for her.

They didn’t get her full range with that song. It took Tinika performing off the cuff about a song she made up to get through to Adam. He used his retroactive button to turn for her and she was now a part of his team. Proving that it’s never over at the end of a performance. Up next was Page Mackenzie. She was thirty-two. She was from South Carolina originally and now she lives in Nashville. Nashville was filled with people trying to break into the music industry. It was such a widespread thing that they tell people at the start to get a side hustle until they make it big.

Page drives a bicycle bus. She was hoping to put that behind her tonight only there was a moment. A very worrying moment. Kelsea and Michael waited until practically the end to turn at the same time. Page’s family was getting worried that it took them so long. Page literally kept upping her ante in the song because you could see she was getting worried too, but thankfully it paid off. It wasn’t much of a choice between Kelsea and Michael. Michael was great. He just didn’t know Country music and Page chose “Hell On Heels” to win over Kelsea. Not him.

Page naturally chose Kelsea. Then came Johnny Rey. He was from New Jersey. His town was apparently the blueberry capital of the world. He picked them as his first job. It wasn’t all that long ago because he was only twenty-seven. Except that wasn’t his biggest issue tonight. Johnny gets performance anxiety. The first time he performed was behind a curtain for his high school musical. He tried to conquer that anxiety with “She Will Be Loved”. It was a great rendition. It just wasn’t enough to move the judges and none turned for him tonight.

Up next was Conor James. He quickly won over the judges with his rendition of “Say A Little Prayer For You”. He was twenty-eight years old and was from Massachusetts. Only he’ll be known tonight for being the first four chair turn of the night. The judges loved him. Two of them turned after he performed the first line of that song. Conor has done it all. He’s performed it all. He was ready to be seen and he did that with his performance. They all wanted him. Conor had a tough time choosing a coach. He ended up going with Adam because that was a better fit for him.

Not that it stopped the other judges for hugging Conor before he left. Up next was Jessica Manalo. She was thirty-one. She was from Las Vegas. She’s been performing all around the city and it hasn’t been easy. She doesn’t have a permanent place to perform. Or be herself. She also had to deal with going against her family’s culture. They were Filipino and they didn’t want her pursuing music. They wanted her to do something practical at first. It took them a while before her parents came onboard. They now support her and were even backstage during her performance tonight.

Jessica performed “Unholy”. It was completely her own rendition. She also played guitar to accompany her music and that alone won her some fans. Both Michael and Kelsea turned for her. Kelsea got her in a way Michael couldn’t. Jessica chose to go with Kelsea. Kelsea’s team was filling up quicker than both John and Michael. The boys gotta grab talent while they can. Next up was a swordsman. His real name is Barry Jean Fontenot. He was thirty-one. He was from Louisiana. And he loves swords.

Barry had a whole intro about swords. He loved a bit of history. A little bit of the classic. He made it all the way to law school when he realized that wasn’t his passion and he pursued his music instead. Barry was really lucky with his parents. They supported him at all times. They were backstage as he performed “I Wish It Would Rain”. Barry love for the Classic came out with the song. He quickly won over the one person that got him. He won Michael. Michael didn’t wait. He turned almost immediately for Barry and Barry was happy to be joining his team.

Barry left behind some swords for the judges. They had so much fun with it that they forgot why they were there. Anyways, up next was Tyler Kae. She was twenty-two. She was from Washington and pursuing music hasn’t been the craziest thing she’d done. She’s into taxidermy. It was unusual for someone so young, but it helped her with her anxiety. She used to have panic attacks just leaving the house. She was doing better now and she’s been pushing herself to perform more. She chose the song “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” tonight. And that easily was the best choice for her.

Tyler has a great voice. Adam and Kelsea both turned for her. Adam actually blocked Kelsea. He wanted Tyler that much and so she has to wait and see if she could get stolen during the next round. Up next was Afina Maddian. She was from Molodva. She moved to the States when she was nineteen to pursue music. She’s now twenty-seven and she wants to show the world what she could do. She’s given up a lot for her music. She couldn’t really afford going back and forth trips to Moldova. It cost her crucial time with her parents and so she was hoping tonight will be her tonight. And it wasn’t.

Last one up was Brian Dardan II. He goes by BD.ii onstage. He didn’t actually pursue music right away. He first fell in love with basketball first and then he got injured. He had to find a new path forward. That turned out to be music. He was thirty-one. He was from Virginia. He now lives in Atlanta. He helps other people produce their music. He was hoping his performance tonight would be his turn to shine and it was. He performed “Adorn”. He won over all four judges. He was a rare four chair turn and Kelsea fought for him. She blocked Adam to try and get BD. And in the end, BD still went with Team John.

THE END!
