The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Monday, May 18, indicate that Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) will try to open Matt Clark’s (Roger Howarth) eyes to who Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) really is.
Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will also unleash her fury on Phyllis and try to convince her to do the right thing.
At the GCAC, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will vow to get Christine Blair Romalotti (Lauralee Bell) to drop the charges and make sure Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) backs off on taking Summers Conglomerate.
Phyllis will insist on Nick keeping his end of the bargain before she delivers Matt, so he’ll get Christine on the phone and set up an ASAP meeting.
Christine will speak with Nick privately and voice confusion when he wants to get rid of the charges against Phyllis.
After Nick pushes Christine to concentrate on Matt’s downfall, she’ll ultimately realize Phyllis has Matt and is using him to force Nick’s hand.
While Christine seethes, Phyllis will discreetly hunt for Matt at Crimson Lights.
After Sharon appears, she’ll point out Phyllis already bought two coffees earlier and will blast her for buying a cup for Matt.
Phyllis will lie about buying coffee for Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) instead, but Sharon will know all about her attempt to use Matt to strike a deal with the Newmans.
Sharon will argue that Matt is a dangerous liar who likes to inflict pain. Phyllis could be Matt’s next victim as far as Sharon’s concerned, so she’ll warn her about that.
Although Sharon will pressure Phyllis to surrender Matt, Phyllis will insist on locking in her company’s future first.
At Society, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will worry about Nick reaching an agreement with Phyllis and knocking the Newmans out of getting their empire back. Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will think Nick’s got the right idea since Matt’s so dangerous and that has to take priority.
However, Adam will eventually admit he feels confident Nick’s using drugs again. It’ll leave Nick feeling like Nick’s distracting himself with all the Matt drama to avoid entering his treatment program.
On Monday’s Y&R episode, Adam will fear Nick could spiral out of control and will share all his worries with Victor, too.
Once Matt asks Patty to come to the park café, she’ll give him some much-needed support.
Matt’s head will be spinning with questions about his old life and whether he’s really the awful person people believe him to be.
Patty will assume Phyllis has been trash talking about her and will acknowledge that she has a long list of crimes.
However, Matt won’t judge Patty, who’ll point out that she got treatment and is struggling to find her place like Matt.
Patty also has an influential family who loathes her, so she’ll relate to Matt and maintain that they’ve never met before.
Matt will feel drawn to Patty and talk about the “kinship” he feels, but he’ll know trusting her means betraying Phyllis.
Of course, Patty will give Matt some good reasons why Phyllis is the one who can’t be trusted.
Matt will find out Phyllis has been deceiving him about being Noah Newman’s (Lucas Adams) stepmother once upon a time.
Phyllis and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) also share a daughter, Summer Newman (Allison Lanier), so Matt will realize Phyllis has been keeping secrets about her ties to the Newman clan.
Patty will insist Phyllis is withholding news about Matt’s feud with the Newmans and wants to control him.
Although Matt won’t want to believe it, Patty will insist Phyllis is leading him on and setting a trap.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Patty will push Matt to stick with her instead, so he’ll have to figure out what he’s going to do.
