The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers hint that Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) might be right about Claire Newman’s (Hayley Erin) unhinged side being just under the surface.
Claire could revert to a former version of herself, but there might be a twist involved.
In the May 8 episode, Audra swore to Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) that underneath Claire’s sweet exterior, that “psycho girl” who tried to kill his entire family was alive and well.
Of course, Audra wants to believe the worst of Claire since they’re rivals, but there might be some truth to that statement anyway.
Claire was briefly treated in the psych ward after she targeted the Newmans on Jordan’s (Colleen Zenk) orders, but there’s always the potential for her to go off the rails again.
Many Y&R fans have always suspected that the old Claire could come back out to play sooner or later.
However, the twist might be if Claire snaps over a Newman family enemy this time around.
Claire is an accepted part of the Newman clan at this point and might lose it depending on where this Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) story is headed.
Matt has amnesia for now, but we all know it’s just a matter of time before his memories rush back.
From there, Matt could make it his mission to torment and get rid of every last Newman family member.
That’d be the perfect time for Claire to come unhinged again so she can go up against Matt in some way.
We could certainly imagine Claire losing control and maybe even taking deadly action, especially if Matt puts Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) in jeopardy.
Claire had so little time to bond with her father, Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck), before she was forced to mourn him.
There’s no way Claire’s going to sit back and watch Matt take Victoria from her, too.
Claire won’t stand for Grandma Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) becoming Matt’s victim either.
It’s easy to see how Matt’s return could trigger that “psycho girl” Audra mentioned and lead to Claire striking back with shocking results.
Whatever the case, Matt’s amnesia won’t last forever. Claire’s ability to keep up this good girl act may not last indefinitely, either, so stay tuned for any wild news that might be looming.
