The Young and the Restless Thursday, May 28 Recap: Matt’s CPR Saves Nick's Life

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Thursday, May 28, reveals that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) will come to Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) rescue before Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) takes him into custody.

In Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) office, everyone will continue to panic over Nick’s apparent overdose.

Matt will somehow know what to do despite his memory issues and will plead for a chance to help Nick.

Victor will finally allow it, so Matt will shake Nick and try to talk to him.

When Matt realizes there’s no pulse, he’ll start chest compressions and get Phyllis to do mouth to mouth.

Nick will eventually gasp for air and get a dose of naloxone when the paramedics arrive.

The paramedics will point out that doing CPR before they got there likely saved Nick’s life.

Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will try to give Phyllis the credit, but Phyllis will approach Matt and insist he’s the one who saved Nick.

It’ll leave Phyllis grateful regardless of how Matt feels about her following her latest trap.

While Sharon and Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) leave for the hospital with Nick, Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) will stick around to see what’s going to happen with Matt.

Sienna will wonder how Matt knew how to handle Nick’s situation and will question who he is now, but Matt won’t have answers.

Victor will ultimately thank Matt for saving Nick’s life, but he’ll still have his men drag him to the Newman ranch.

At Crimson Lights, Y&R spoilers say Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will cross paths with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).

That’ll lead to Jack admitting he’s hoping Victor and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) never reunite.

Even so, Jack will have compassion for Victor’s family and will urge hostile Kyle to have some, too.

Kyle will be puzzled when Jack drops hints about the Newmans dealing with something worse than losing the family business.

In Nikki’s suite at the GCAC, she’ll deal with a headache as she takes aspirin and texts Nick about meeting up for breakfast tomorrow.

Nikki will eventually text Jack an invitation as well, so he’ll call her back and accept.

That’s when Nikki will confess that Nick still hasn’t gotten back to her, so she’ll feel fear rising up.

Jack won’t want Nikki jumping to conclusions and will offer some reassurance about Nick.

At one point, Nikki will fall asleep and dream that she’s trying to fix things with Victor at the ranch.

In this nightmare, Victor will admit that Nikki’s too late since Nick is dead of an overdose.

Nikki will wake up startled and will lean on Victoria when she arrives.

Victor will ultimately call with the news that Nick overdosed tonight, so Nikki will start crying and worry that her dream has come true.

However, Victoria will assure Nikki that Nick is alive after she talks to Victor herself.

Once Victoria learns it was a close call, she’ll head to the hospital with Nikki to see Nick.

In New York, Dr. Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox) will quiz a cagey Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) about his connection to Claire Newman (Hayley Erin).

Stephanie will sense that Claire might be “the one” and that Holden cares about her more than he’s willing to admit.

Once Holden joins Claire at the hotel, they’ll plan to order room service.

Claire will question Holden about his past as a heartbreaker, but he’ll suggest he never found the right woman to get serious about (until now).

Holden will also ask Claire if things are really over with Kyle, so she’ll confirm that she doesn’t love him anymore.

Claire will seem optimistic about where her romance with Holden is headed as she falls into bed with him again.

The Young and the Restless spoilers Claire and Holden’s bond will keep deepening, so stay tuned to see what’s coming up for these two.
