The Young and the Restless Tuesday, May 26 Recap: Phyllis Lures Matt to Office, Patty Plans To Marry Jack

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Tuesday, May 26, reveals that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will set another trap for Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) before Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) join them in her office.

At Summers Conglomerate, Phyllis will leave Matt a voicemail insisting that she has feelings for him.

Matt will call back and wonder if Phyllis means that, so she’ll assure him that she does and plead for a chance to explain everything in person.

Once Matt heads to Phyllis’ office, she’ll acknowledge that knocking him out and tying him up must’ve seemed impulsive.

Phyllis will argue that she couldn’t let Matt leave since he’s so vulnerable and she had to offer protection.

Phyllis will blame Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) for twisting things around and badmouthing her.

Matt will struggle to trust Phyllis, but he’ll eventually admit he has feelings for her, too.

Phyllis and Matt will almost kiss, but he’ll pull back after remembering his wedding ring and some vague version of his wife’s face.

After Phyllis explains that Sienna cheated on Matt with Noah Newman (Lucas Adams), he’ll think this is good news and that maybe he isn’t the horrible person everyone believes him to be.

Matt will want to make amends with Sienna and Noah before trying his luck with the rest of the Newmans.

While Phyllis is debating things with Matt, she’ll send a text to Nick about Matt being there in her office.

At Crimson Lights, Patty will bump into Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), who’ll reveal that he trashed the flowers she sent him.

Jack will make it clear that Patty has no chance with him and that it’s not the same situation as the one with Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters).

Patty will stand by her belief that she has an inescapable connection with Jack and that he’s going to be surprised by how all this turns out.

Once Jack vents to Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) at home, Y&R spoilers say they’ll talk about Diane shutting everyone out.

Traci will still believe Jack has a chance with Diane, but only if he focuses on her and not revenge on Victor or Patty.

At the Newman ranch, Victor will confront Nick for going behind his back to negotiate with Phyllis, but Nick will downplay it. Nick will also reveal that Phyllis lost control of Matt when Patty seemingly helped him escape.

Patty will eventually come along hoping to make a deal with Victor, who could vouch for her and help her with her Genoa City redemption.

Victor will laugh in Patty’s face when she vows to become the next Mrs. Jack Abbott.

Nick will get Phyllis’ text about Matt being at Summers Conglomerate and show it to Victor.

That’ll send Victor and Nick over to Phyllis’ office in a hurry.

Patty will end up back at the coffeehouse, where she’ll leave Matt a voicemail and hope he’s not getting tangled up with Phyllis again.

On the patio, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will talk business with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver), who’ll also agree to be Sally’s maid of honor once the conversation shifts to the upcoming wedding.

Meanwhile, Billy will gloat to Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) about his looming marriage to Sally and the fact that Sally’s pregnant.

Adam will still have Sally’s baby on his mind when Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) meets up with him for dinner at Society.

After Adam spills the wedding and pregnancy revelations, Chelsea will realize Adam’s thinking about the little girl he lost with Sally and will have sympathy.

At Summers Conglomerate, Victor and Nick will arrive to find Phyllis with Matt.

Although Phyllis won’t be happy about Nick bringing Victor with him, Victor will insist this ends now.
