Tonight on Lifetime Emmy Award winning Tim Gunn returns with another new episode of PROJECT RUNWAY: UNDER THE GUNN called, “Hit the Stage.” On tonight’s episode the designers create looks for pop star Zendaya to wear to a concert. Did you watch last week’s episode? We did and we recapped it right here for you.
On last week’s episode with a total of 15 designers, three mentors, and four spots per team, three contestants will be eliminated before the real competition even begins. Inspired by a vampire world, the designers use unconventional materials to create a mysterious look. The Guest judge last week was Sarah Hyland.
On tonight’s show Zendaya is one when she gets the designers to design a costume to wear to her concert. Zendaya is so excited she tweeted out to her fans to remind them, “Tomorrow’s @ProjectRunway #UnderTheGunn challenge? Designing a performance outfit for me! See you at 9/8c only on @lifetimetv.”

Tonight on Project Runway: Under the Gunn, singer, dancer, and Disney star Zendaya guests as the designers are challenged to design her look for an upcoming concert. They have the opportunity to design her clothes for her performance.
First the team of designers recap the previous week.
The Challenge Begins
Asha and Sam can barely contain their excitement, because they are big fans. Isabelle tells Nick to be quiet so she can focus. The designers have five minutes to pick their materials. Isabelle’s team considered her the weakest link because of her anxiety with every challenge, and her horrible time management skills. Nick and Mondo try to get their designers pumped and excited. With all the designers working and only 8 hours to go, Isabelle is sitting alone “thinking” as she tries to get rid of her mental block.
Natalia went with a football jersey-look. Nick seemed very excited and confident with her work. Oscar goes bold with red sequins but nick and Tim thin it looks too drum majorette. Stephanie used a leather look with big shoulders. Isabelle is not far along at all but Nick likes where she is going with her design.
Asha wants to go with a boyfriend look. Mondo is happy with all of his designers.
Anya checks on Blake and he is stressed because his intended design for harem pants is not working out. Anya tries to give him some confidence. Nicholas shares his design, but Tim tells him it is very boring and he needs to step it up. Shan is going for more of a sexy look with his design. Isabelle makes a last minute mistake by sewing her design incorrectly. She has to rush to fix her error.
Runway Day
While everyone is fitting their models, Isabelle is still working on her design, fixing her mistakes. The hairdressers and make-up artists are getting the models ready. Stephanie is really nervous about the fit of her pants. Tim reminds Isabelle they are going to runway in 10 minutes…she is still sewing. Time for runway and Isabelle is not done, model not dressed and she is completely ignoring Nick. Tim loses it with Isabelle and pulls the half-dressed model away from her.
Runway Time!!
Zendaya joins fellow judges Jen Rade and Zanna Roberts Rossi.
Michelle has a catsuit look with a leather jacket. Sam came with a sexy black and white number with an amazing job on the construction. Natalia went black and white as well and gave a bit of the boyfriend look with a jersey-inspired sheer blouse. Oscar’s risky red number seemed to scare Zendaya a bit. Stephanie used the wrong material for her pants, giving them a baggy look that was not right for the overall design. Anya was disappointed with Blake’s design because it was boring. Nick went with a long black sheer look. Shan used exciting colors and gave a real young feel to his design.
The Judges Comments
Natalia: Should have gone more glamorous, but she went too casual.
Stephanie: Missed the mark and is too ill-fitting.
Oscar: Zendaya on Ice was the overalllook. Zendaya said her parents may not like the look-too sexy.
Blake: the look was not consistent. Zendaya liked it though and thought she’d be able to dance easily in it.
Shan: Zendaya liked the jacket. They liked the bold print.
Asha: grungy, but glamorous. Not too overexposed.
Isabelle: Unacceptable. Zendaya said it looked homemade. They thought it looked cheap and atrocious.
Elimination
Isabelle is gracious when she is told she has been eliminated. She says her goodbyes.

Asha wins the challenge. She is so excited knowing Zendaya is wearing her design.
