MK Nobilette is singing “Perfect” by Pink. [VIDEO HERE]

Judges Comments: Keith “So, I love the way you look tonight, the hair, the whole thing, the styling is looking good. The whole thing we have talked about is how you regain and how you recover. I think you really gotta work on loosening up and owning the stage more. Don’t let relaxed and coolness look like you’re not owning the stage.” Jennifer – “I have to say when you first started, singing in the mirror, was the most emotional you have ever been. That part of it will really really help you. At the beginning of the song was really great. When you got thrown, I felt like it threw you off. When those things happen you have to be able to be like – forget this, I’m gonna kill this, and just keep going. You have to just go for it.” Harry – “MK I didn’t think that was one of your strongest performances. As I was watching it, I think you have a really beautiful voice, going into the studio and singing without the pressures of performance, you could do that it. But, what kind of shows could you put on? I didn’t really think it was your best performance.”

Dexter Roberts is singing “Cruise” by Florida Georgia Line. [VIDEO HERE]

Judges Comments: Jennifer- “Dexter, listen that wsa good. That was really good. Here’s the thing about doing Top Ten records, the whole crowd knows the song, and that’s your opportunity to get them to go along with you. That’s the great thing about hit records. So, you gotta keep the crowd with you, as well as you sang it I felt like you could have done a little more rallying to get the crowd with you. Good job. Harry – “I disagree with Jen, I don’t think that was a good performance. If you are going to take a song that is immensely popular, the burden of groove falls on the band. You didn’t do anything different. Unless you get bigger than these songs, it is going to come across as generic. Remember when you did Lucky Man? That was a good performance, this was not.” Keith – “I think it was a good song choice, for you, I really do. You are being consistent. What I really liked about it was what you did at the beginning. Why didn’t you stay where you were at the beginning because that was different? You’re talented and you talent shows me what you can do, but your artistry shows me who you are. Keep working on what you did in the beginning.”

Jena Irene is singing “Clarity” by Zedd. [VIDEO HERE]

Judges Comments: Harry“I was really interested to see how you were going to do it, it seems like that might be your wheelhouse. I could really see you succeeding in that. Like you said there hasn’t been a lot of electronic music on here, I’m beginning to see who you are as an artist. I think there’s not a whole lot to that tune, but I think you did a good job with it and I enjoyed it. I’d like to hear you do more of it. I felt like I was in Ultra.” Keith – “That’s the best performance of the night so far, easily. You came out, it’s not just about moving around, it’s about looking comfortable doing it. You changed the melody at times-that’s how you make it your own.” Jennifer – “I love you singing that song, it’s perfect for you. I wish it was longer so we could have got the crowd to jump. When you are running around the stage, you gotta hole the middle. If you’re kinda sideways it almost feels like you are unsure at times. If you go to a concert you are right in the middle of the stage. It was a great job!”

Alex Preston is singing “Story Of My Life” by One Direction. [VIDEO HERE]

Judges Comments: Keith“What’s interesting about this stage of the journey is we are starting to see where the artists are coming in. You made it your own, you play like Alex, you move like Alex. I loved it.” Jennifer-“I loved it I thought your vocal was so beautiful, when we talk about owning the stage, that was it. You remind me a little bit of Buddy Holly, you’re just missing the glasses. You evoke greatness. Congratulations.” Harry – “You know when you go to amusement parks and they have those water pistols and you shoot, well to me you just hit the bullseye on the artistry target. You have so artistic with your artistic choices I think I am beginning to know who you are. You are leading the pack on that one.”

Malaya Watson is singing “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars. [VIDEO HERE]

Judges Comments: Jennifer“It’s funny, I’m not going to lie, I was ready to kinda hate on you. But, then you decided to leave it the same, and I had gooseys. It was sang so beautiful and so tenderly with so much love. It was awesome.” Harry – “The thing I liked the most was how sincere you were with every single word, and that is difficult to do. You remind me so much of a type of a singer at your age that is so hungry to learn. Work with the musicians, and have them teach you about chords, it’s a quick fix and I think it will enhance your performances.” Keith – “We always talk about how you gotta find a song that is lyrically right, well done for doing that and leaving it the way it was. What I really love to is we are hearing more control in your voice. Tonight you pulled it back and it really pulled me in. Nice job baby.”

Caleb Johnson is singing “Edge of Glory” by Lada Gaga. [VIDEO HERE]

Judges Comments: Harry“I liked the fact that you chose a straight-up pop tune, I thought it was admirable of you and you put your own spin on it. I’ve seen you do better performances, but I give you an “A” for originality. It was loud, the whole thing was loud, you do well very well.” Keith – “You have the killer tone, and you deliver every week on that. I felt like it was rumbling instead of moving alone. It felt like your voice was too big for that.” Jennifer – “I’m kinda between the two of them. I just felt like, again you sound great, it was lacking the feeling for me. I believe you in your other performances that you sang, I felt like you were just showing off vocally. If you are going to pick a song by Lady Gaga make sure it is a song that you feel every word of.”

CJ Harris is singing “Invisible” by Hunter Hayes. [VIDEO HERE]

Judges Comments: Keith“Here’s the thing CJ, first of all I’m rooting for you and I really like you a lot, you were born with that voice. I heard you at rehearsal and you nailed that song, but tonight it was really shaky. The believability and all that, you have so much going on. The only thing I would work on you with is being able to stay in pitch, I understand it, that’s why I’m really encouraging you to work on it.” Jennifer – “You’re like our little quit killer. There’s no doubt that your heart is in it, I hope you get the other part of you in control. I hope that tone and the heart reach through the TV and into America so that you are here next week.” Harry – “I specifically don’t go to rehearsals, because I don’t care what you do at rehearsals, I care what you do when the red light turns on. I want to make sure you know what I mean when I say pitch, and intonation. You have a tendency to sing sharp, this is something you can fix, it’s a discipline. You’re talented and you can do it. You gotta get that pitch in check.”

Jessica Meuse is singing “Pumped Up Kids” by Foster The People. [VIDEO HERE]

Judges Comments: Jennifer“I was really happy with that performance, because last week I was really worried. It felt right in your wheelhouse you sang it perfectly, it felt really good.” Harry – “I disagree with Jen, I wasn’t really sure how you were interpreting those lyrics. I wonder where the cry is, where the laugh is, where the joy is. You have a one dimensional performance. You seem to be in a box, and I’m listening to the words, and they’re really provocative. I don’t understand why you were smiling.” Keith – “I liked it, you made it your own. You kinda gave it this 60’s bop, if you didn’t hear the lyrics and it was low on the radio.” Harry – “The bottome line is, it’s about the lyrics, you gotta sing the lyrics.” Jennifer – “Well what she is saying and I agree with her is there is something about the lyrics and then the upbeat sound.”

Majesty Rose is singing “Wake Me Up” by Avicii. [VIDEO HERE]

Judges Comments: Harry“I really like what you did with that tune, that’s another what I call featured vocal. I think you’re very smart and you’re complex and the audience likes to be challenged. That’s the Majesty that I like, I love what you just did. Great job.” Keith – “I disagree with Harry. I like you, a lot, I like the way you sing. But the reason that song works for Avicii is they put a driving tune to it, for me it didn’t work, it’s just one thing. But your voice always delivers.” Jennifer – “Tonight I saw something in you I have never seen before, fear. I think last night really affected you, but you gotta come back the next time and you can’t let it effect you. Half way through you were the Majesty we love to hear, I don’t ever wanna see that other girl again.”

Sam Woolf is singing “We Are Young” by Fun. [VIDEO HERE]

Judges Comments: Keith“I got a good feeling that as much as I would love more time to speak to you I am going to get more time next week.” Jennifer – “I loved it, so much better than you did last week, I loved it.” Harry – “Self assertion, you gotta come out here and act like you own the stage. Where’s the guy that sang Lego Man?”

THE END!
