Chris Hemsworth‘s wife, Elsa Pataky, is currently in labor at Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The Thor actor is standing by his wife’s side in a high-security birthing suite that has undoubtedly seen many a celebrity over the years. Sources say that there are multiple guards standing by, which we find puzzling because . . . well, does a guardian of Asgard and wielder of lightning really need protection from a couple of mere mortals? Hm. Turns out he does.
Elsa and Chris already have one child together. India Rose Hemsworth is 22 months old. With siblings on the way, it’s going to be a full Hemsworth household. Chris and Elsa married in 2010 and are, for the most part, a fairly quiet couple. You don’t hear much about them, either positive or negative, and I suppose that’s just how they like it.
Recently, Pataky told British magazine Hello! how shocked and excited she and her husband are to welcome twins into their lives:
“We were in shock!” she says of their reactions to finding out they had twins on the way. “On the one hand we were excited, but we were also wondering, ‘How are we going to cope?’ We’re a bit nervous but very happy and we think it’s going to be fun and incredible, because relationships between twins are very special…Everything (is doubled), including the size of my belly! I look at it and go, ‘I’m going to turn into a ball and bounce down the stairs!’… (But) I haven’t wanted to know the sex of the twins in case I obsessed. With two, there’s a bigger chance of a boy, so I hope so.”
