Meryl Davis and Danica McKellar Dancing With the Stars Samba Video 5/5/14 #DWTS #DanceDuels

Olympic skating dance champion Meryl Davis  and Maks Chmerkovskiy and actress and author Danica Mckellar and Val Chmerkovskiy danced a Samba to “I Luh Yah Papi” by J. Lo feat. French Montana. On tonight’s season 18 episode 8 of Dancing with the Stars the two couples danced in the first ever Celebrity Dance Duel. Abby Lee Miller of “Dance Moms” joined Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba as a guest judge for the evening.  If you missed tonight’s show you can read a full and detailed recap, right here.

The anticipated quarter finals begin as Pro Mark Ballas makes his solo recording artist debut singing his new single “Get My Name,” along with his band and the house band “Ray Chew Live.”

Judges comments: Len: “Samba is not easy dance to get through – I loved the content there is so much Samba going on.  The technique was terrific.  It was fabulous, well done.”  Abby: “When the guys left the floor and you ladies were on the floor you could see the arms were floating around.  I would rather see the girls in heels.”  Bruno: “Wonderful Samba, Len was right it was difficult.  If you don’t take the bounce at the same time you look a bit off.  I am telling you it was sexy.”  Carrie Ann: “The content was all there.  It is a duel but you too have to work together to get the better scores.  Some of the turns and bounces were off.  Sometimes you added an arm.  As much as I loved it as a hold.  It did not quite do justice.”
